Made a glass from a can and a pet bottle. It turned out not everything is simple

I saw on the Internet how a glass is made from an aluminum can, everything looked simple, I planned to repeat it for an experiment. I needed two cans and a pet bottle, there were bottles, and I went to the store for the cans, they didn't sell empty ones, I took full ones. The wife became sharply against it, but explained that for the experiment, she calmed down (take note of the men).

Manufacturing

The first step was to separate the lid, for this I erased the edge with sandpaper.

Then I cut off the liter bottle, put the can in there and started heating it with a hairdryer, the bottle started to shrink, everything was fine, but at the end she flattened the can.

My mistake was to use a liter bottle, I took a 1.5 liter one, put the jar there with the bottom towards the neck of the bottle. Now he was more careful with the hairdryer, setting it to the first, weaker heating mode.

Gradually, the plastic, tightly lined the jar, I just had to wait until it cools down and cut off the excess at the edges. Where the plastic was not exactly cut off, it was sharpened with sandpaper.

Result

It turned out such an original glass, my wife and eldest son liked it. Such a summer cottage option or a souvenir will withstand both hot and cold drinks, on occasion I will give it to any of my friends.
