Sow your favorite petunias in granules into peat tablets. The main mistake that novice florists make
Finally, it's time to plant the petunias in early March. Of course, you can plant it in February, but you need backlighting, without it the plants will stretch out.
Many novice growers complain that this is a capricious culture, it has poor germination. But if you provide for all the requirements and nuances of planting, then you can wait for a magnificent flowering.
For the 2020 season I chose 2 terry varieties and one regular variety – grandiflora. The colors of the crops are perfectly combined with each other, which will look beautiful in a pot or in a flower bed.
I will sow petunias in peat tablets with a diameter of 36 mm.
It is necessary to place the tablets in a deep container with a depression in the center upwards. They must be poured with hot boiling water. After a minute, the tablets can be used.
Use a toothpick to seal the grooves so that the seeds do not roll down. I will sow seeds here.
Then you need to open the bag with the seed. Pour dragee with seeds on a saucer.
Moisten a toothpick in water, pick up a dragee and lower it into the recess in the center.
It is impossible to cover the seeds with earth, since petunias germinate in the light. This is the main mistake of inexperienced florists.
Do the same with other pills. Of course, not all seeds will germinate, but 5-6 plants from one variety are enough for me. Dragee must be dissolved by spraying it abundantly with a spray bottle. With the help of a toothpick, you can carefully remove the dragee shell if it does not want to dissolve in water.
In this case, all the seeds can not be used, but left for the next year.
It is known that one plant requires 3 liters of land. This means that 5 petunias need 15 liters of earth. Only 3 plants can be planted in a 10 liter pot.
After sowing, cover the container with a lid or bag.
Sign the variety of petunia and put the sowing date. Put it on the windowsill. The sprouts will appear in 10-15 days at a temperature of at least +20 degrees during the day, and at least +16 degrees at night.
As the sprouts appear, the lid or film needs to be slightly opened so that the plants gradually get used to the new conditions, then remove everything.
