Methods for creating stained glass
There are several ways to create stained glass windows. The first one requires special knowledge, skills and significant financial costs - this is soldering colored glass to each other. The second involves the use of stained glass paints and drawing the pattern directly on the glass. And finally, the third one is available to almost everyone: a colored pattern on the window can be made using a self-adhesive film.
This is exactly what a member of our portal with a nickname did. Doctor. During the construction of the wooden house, the owners placed a large window between the floors, measuring 360x75 cm, consisting of three sections. It overlooked the neighboring area, and this made the tenants feel uncomfortable. To hide from prying eyes, the forum woman decided to make a stained glass window.

The sketch was drawn by an artist friend. Doctor broke it into cells. Then, having quickly familiarized herself with the basic rules of the harmonious combination of colors, I ran to buy a gold-colored lead tape and stained glass film. I was looking for the latter not in a roll, but in sheets. According to the craftswoman, this one is more expensive, but also more durable. The main colors are light green and red.
The husband did not immediately believe in the successful outcome of the idea, therefore window glass had to be won back. Drawing by cells from a sketch Doctor transferred to whatman in full size. It turned out that four flowers need to be made for one glass. Since all materials were expensive and of high quality, they adhered well. The work proceeded quickly.
Before gluing the pattern, degrease the glass with a soft cloth soaked in alcohol or acetone. On the door glass, a stained glass film is glued from above.
It is advisable to do this with an assistant, at four arms. Carefully detach the backing paper and take care not to form bubbles. Please note that it is extremely difficult to tear off the glued film!
To make the stained-glass window live longer, it must be placed inside the glass unit. Doctor advises to learn to work with stained-glass windows from small forms. In the process, it will become clear how to glue the film, press the tape, etc. Even the training video won't tell about it. Since the forum woman was mastering a new business on her own, it was not without mistakes. However, they are only visible to the owner.
