Crassula or fat woman is valued for its ability to attract good luck and financial well-being into the house. In different countries, this plant is called "home or family tree", "tree of happiness."

You can get it as a gift, or buy it, but it is better to plant it yourself.

The fat woman reproduces by seeds, leaves and cuttings. Growing from seeds is the most difficult and ineffective way.

A fat woman will grow from a small leaf, but it will take a very long time to wait for a lush and voluminous crown. It is easiest to grow a young tree from a sprout.

How to properly form the root system

For this purpose, you need a young, healthy shoot. It can be planted directly into the soil, but it is better to put it in a glass of water and wait for the roots to sprout.

To speed up this process, I use a rooting tool. The fertilizer is sold in bulk and liquid form.

I add the root formation stimulator after the shoot has stood in water for two or three days. The roots then germinate very quickly.

We select the soil

In my house, a fat woman grows in ordinary soil, but in order for the tree to be lush, it is still better to use a ready-made soil mixture for cacti and succulents.

If it is not possible to purchase soil, I prepare the mixture myself. To do this, I take leaf and turf soil, as well as sand in a ratio of 3: 1: 1. Here I add a small amount of expanded clay (you can use brick chips), humus and ash.

I mix all the components thoroughly and fall asleep in a container, at the bottom of which there is a drainage.

In what container will the fat woman feel good

The fat woman is unpretentious to growing conditions, and will grow quietly in an ordinary plastic pot. But a ceramic or earthenware container will work better. The main requirement for a pot is a large volume.

In deep dishes, the root system will develop better and faster. Also, the ground part of the bastard is quite heavy, and needs a counterweight.

A small container may not stay on the windowsill and turn over. Before planting a sprout in a large container, you should first plant it in a small container, and wait one year for the fat woman to develop a crown.

If you plant a small sprout immediately in a voluminous flowerpot, then the plant will devote all its efforts to form a root system to the detriment of the ground part.

How to land

1. Put drainage on the bottom and fill in half of the potting mix.

2. Place the bastard shoot inside. It should be vertical.

3. If several shoots are planned to be planted in one container, then the distance between them should be the same.

4. After that, the roots are sprinkled with soil.

5. Water the plant with settled water at room temperature.

The fat woman prefers warm rooms, diffused lighting and very moderate watering. I do not advise placing the plant pot in direct sunlight.
