How to knit fiberglass reinforcement?
Fiberglass is a good alternative to the sharply gilded steel reinforcement that builders have traditionally been laying in the foundation for a hundred years.
At the same time, if some 30-35 years ago we cooked steel reinforcement, today in low-rise construction many "do not steam up" and knit it. Which, in general, is correct under certain assumptions.
But the title of the article promised to tell you how to knit fiberglass reinforcement. I keep my word.
Actually, there are only 2 ways to connect four longitudinal reinforcing bars in two levels.
The first way - buy electrical plastic clips of small length (100 mm is enough "for the eyes"). This is the most popular and easiest way to knit rebar.
Just don't be like Igor (the hero of the photo above), knit fiberglass reinforcement in solid rubber gloves!
The second way is if you have heaps of old aluminum wires with a cross section of at least 2.5 "squares" on your site (well, you never know, the old wiring was changed to copper), you can safely use these leftovers for tying reinforcement.
But before making a choice in favor of fiberglass reinforcement, I advise you to read my previous article: Will "fiberglass" replace steel reinforcement: pros and cons.
There I described in detail how and where you can save money, and where you can’t categorically.
Instead of an afterword:
Hold on, men, winter is coming soon: construction will be over, we will rest ...
