When the gooseberries are cut

· Upon completion of the work, fertilizers are added to the bush.

It should be noted that the gooseberry is a sun-loving plant, while it should have good ventilation. If there are many seedlings at the base of the bush, then the oxygen supply will not be enough, the plant will begin to ache and may even die. Timely and correct pruning will allow the bush to thrive and yield crops.

In order to start pruning branches, you first need to decide which ones you need to remove. Generally speaking, you need to cut off old branches and those that lie on the ground.

It's important to knowthat a gooseberry bush should have no more than ten main stems. All that is superfluous needs to be removed with pruning shears.

Start pruning the bush from the middle. Near the root, you need to cut off the branches, which, after the appearance of foliage, will restrict the access of light and air. Only a well-ventilated bush will grow properly.

Branching is carried out according to a certain principle. There should be no more than four buds on a branch, while you should look exactly where it will grow. If the shoot is directed inside the bush, then it must be removed.

Correct pruning of the bush guarantees good growth and a rich harvest. With timely cutting and crown formation, a fruitful bush can be grown.
