Women's happiness is growing badly? A few simple tips to help you deal with the Problem
The beautiful snow-white spathiphyllum flower became my first indoor plant and naturally, due to inexperience, I faced many difficulties, including the termination of its growth.
The problem arose several times while I was learning the intricacies of floriculture! But now I can safely tell you how to activate the growth of spathiphyllum!
The growing season of Women's happiness is divided into two parts:
• rest from September to March;
· Active growth from April to August.
Every month of summer and spring, 2-3 new leaves should appear in the bunch, if they are absent, it means that some factors hinder the growth of the plant.
Possessing a short, widening rhizome, spathiphyllum needs an appropriate pot. When it is too deep, the plant "forgets" about the development of the aboveground part, until it fills all the available soil space with roots.
Lack of light inhibits the development of most indoor plants and Women's happiness is no exception. I put it on the western windowsill, but you can keep it on the eastern one. Shading from direct sunlight is mandatory - they are able to burn the leaves.
Its exotic origin has made this flower capricious to moisture - if in winter 1-2 waterings a week are enough, then in summer it is recommended to "water" it every day, in small portions. And also - spray generously in a day, moistening all the leaves.
It is often said that nitrogen fertilization is harmful to flowering - this is true. But do not forget that nitrogen is necessary for Women's happiness in the spring months to actively build up green mass.
Also, do not forget about phosphorus fertilizers - they contribute to the normal course of photosynthesis processes.
Once, having left the city for several months in the summer, I entrusted the spathiphyllum to a friend, the same novice florist, and when I returned, it turned out that the flower did not develop at all.
Turning to specialized literature, I found a recipe for salvation:
· The plant is removed from the pot and the old soil is shaken off the root system;
· The roots are washed in running water, then dried slightly and cut off sick and dead, weak;
· In a new, more spacious pot, a 2 cm layer of expanded clay is made and filled with a disinfected substrate;
Spathiphyllum is planted in a container, watered moderately and placed in a bright place.
After that, within 2-3 weeks it is possible to notice how the flower began to grow again.
