My raspberry-raspberry-raspberry! There is a raspberry berry in the garden, I love you!

Our whole family loves raspberries: me, my husband, and children. We eat it fresh. And for the winter I roll jam in jars. It turns out a delicious and healthy treat.

True, the first couple of years the raspberry did not spoil us with the harvest. Few berries, not all sweet, some rotted, some fell off. Seeing our "raspberry" torment, a neighbor at the dacha advised to use trellises for growing raspberries.

These are such supports for the bush in the form of posts, between which one or more wires are stretched. Without hesitation, my husband and I built such a structure. And already in the first year of use, its merits were appreciated.

Growing this way allows me to harvest three times more berries than the usual bush method.

Basic rules for growing raspberries on trellises:

· You need to prepare a bed. The garden bed is dug in the form of a trench about half a meter wide. Humus is introduced into it in combination with mineral fertilizer. In certain places, trellis posts are dug in.

· It is better to plant raspberries either in spring or in autumn. Plant cuttings should be planted at a distance of 50-70 cm from each other.

· To prevent unnecessary growth of raspberries to the sides, a stop must be dug along the entire length of the trench. It can be slate or pieces of iron sheet.

The stopper should be located about 70 cm from the edge of the trench. Next, crossbars for trellises are made, and the wire is stretched.

· It is important to tie up the growing shoots correctly. You need to make sure that there is no tightness between them, so that they do not touch each other. It is better to use synthetic twine for the garter.

Benefits of growing raspberries on trellises:

1. Plant care is simplified. When raspberry stalks are tied on a wire, it is easier to water them, remove weeds, and fertilize them easier. At the same time, I am not afraid to get scratched on the thorns of the plant.

2. The branches are securely fastened. They do not break from bad weather or from the severity of the fruit.

3. The bush is warmed by the sun from all sides, which contributes to the uniform ripening of the berries.

4. Raspberries ripen large and sweet.

5. The ventilation in the bushes is improved. And this, in turn, reduces the risk of developing putrefactive diseases of raspberries.

6. The berries are suspended and not in contact with the ground. Accordingly, they always remain clean.

Using the trellis method of growing raspberries, you can get a rich harvest of fragrant berries. Now that's the only way I grow raspberries. And I advise you!
