Tired of your neighbors? Best Fast growing climbing plants for a fence that will hide you from prying eyes
Still, sometimes you want some privacy at the dacha! Neighbors can be good people, but you must admit that only when you find yourself behind a fence that is impenetrable for their views, you can really relax.
A couple of years ago, I almost decided to build a tall, blank fence for this purpose, but my acquaintance, a gardener with twenty years of experience, advised against it.
Why, when there is a mass of rapidly growing plants that can twine around a light, simple fence, creating a private territory, plus, decoratively decorating it.
There are, in fact, dozens of suitable species and hundreds of varieties, but I personally can recommend the following.
Clematis
There are varieties with sky blue, purple flowers, the aroma is pleasant, but not intrusive. It braids bases up to 5 m high and can be used to decorate sculptural compositions. Flowering is extended until the first frost.
Prefers well-lit areas. Painfully sensitive to cold winds and wetlands. In one place it retains a luxurious look for up to 20 years.
Honeysuckle
It stretches up to 6 m in height, is undemanding to supports, so it is often used to decorate not only fences, but also walls of houses.
It blooms in a white tone, fragrant and to achieve its maximum splendor, branches should be shortened more often. Demanding on soil loosening and watering (only warm water).
Climbing rose
A centuries-old classic, a little capricious in care, but infinitely beautiful. Looks perfect when it does not hide the entire fence, but reveals its wooden or forged sections.
Fills the area with aroma. But many varieties need tying and insulation for the winter.
Maiden grapes
In the summer it has a usual green color, but in the fall the leaves turn purple-red. Ideal for when a large area needs to be covered with a living plant carpet.
Unpretentious to the composition of the soil, but it is necessary to water and mulch it on time. The berries of this grape are inedible - only decorative.
Schisandra chinensis
It is frost-resistant and the only drawback is that it grows slowly in the first year, but it strives to thickly braid everything it can reach from the second year.
Also suitable for shading arbors. In autumn it is decorated with clusters of scarlet fruits, which are edible to humans and serve as food for some birds that look into the gardens.
Prefers shaded areas. To be beautiful, it needs to be pruned often.
