Modified the clamp with a nut. I never thought of it before
Sometimes simple solutions increase the usability of the tool by several times, and they are so uncomplicated that you think, how could you not have thought of it before.
Refinement
Today I got the idea to modify the clamp. The fact is that her handle is extremely inconvenient in terms of functionality. If you need to grab any object, then it is likely to press against the bottom of the table (workbench, stool), and grabbing it with your hand will be problematic. And this means that the part is not really pressed. I decided to fix this situation with a regular nut by 17.
He pulled out the pin that held the handle, took off the handle, and put the nut on the screw, put the handle in place, securing it with the same pin. It's time to fix the nut on the screw, for this I decided to drill it (with the screw) through and through, a painstaking business, but I managed to do it. Through the hole, I fixed the parts with a wire of a suitable diameter, grinded the protrusions with a file, and for reliability I filled the homemade hairpin with superglue.
The test passed with a bang! Now, the fact that the handle is pressed against the leg of the stool does not really matter, you take the key, and you clamp it, and as you need it, it turns out tightly, reliably, conveniently.
In general, I am satisfied with the alteration, I suffered so much before with this operation. And how do you like this rationalization proposal, will you use it?
