How the Finnish lazy bathhouse defeated the Russian one and what has greed to do with it
Do you agree that the Russian bath is the same national symbol for Russia as matryoshka, balalaika and bears? We will tactfully keep silent about vodka, because we are for the health of the nation. So, already in the last century, an invader and invader came to our land swiftly and inevitably, displacing, almost everywhere, the Russian bath. And as you probably already guessed, this invader came from Finland. What is called a Finnish bath in the advertisements for the provision of bath services is nothing more than a sauna, and it is no longer clear whether this mistake is made with intent, or out of ignorance.
The whole trouble is that now it is almost impossible to find a real, traditional Russian bathhouse heating "on black", as it was called in the old days. And the reason is... Banal commercial calculation and banal, human laziness. Now we will explain what is the matter. The whole catch lies in the significant differences between the Russian bath and the Finnish sauna.
There are much more problems with the bath in every sense, from the requirements for construction and materials, and ending with the process itself. The air humidity in the bath sometimes reaches 70%, against almost zero in the sauna. And the soot seeping from the stove leaves traces on the walls and ceiling. Naturally, in an ordinary residential building, an abundance of moisture leads to corrosion, fungi and destruction of materials in the end, and the smoke coming from under the door of a panel high-rise building is a challenge to the Ministry of Emergencies. Therefore, saunas, with a minimum of cost, are arranged almost at every corner, posting an advertisement with the proud name "Bath".
And the second aspect is laziness. Yes, it is our laziness. In the sauna, you can just sit and bask. No breathing, no unnecessary movements. While bathing procedures provide for a profuse flow of sweat and active beating with steamed brooms from leaves or needles of trees. And the sensations accompanying this execution, you see, are not for the gentle Finnish natures. And now it is similar for the Russians. And what do you prefer?
