From a dream to your own home: the story of a female construction site Part 3 Change house

A woman builder is a familiar profession. Representatives of the fairer sex are dashingly operated with tower cranes, perfectly plaster and paint, are skilled finishers. But if a woman undertakes to build a house, and even with her own hands, this arouses wild curiosity. Participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname ST_00 decided to build a house herself - such is her dream. What happened with our heroine - read on.

A little about thoughts before big deeds

All winter I was haunted by the thought: how am I going to do this?! In my head, everything was very beautiful, in dreams, in general, everything had already been built. But in practice, at the sight of the site, the heart fell into the heels, it got confused there for a long time in the labyrinths and, finding its way back, beat in the temple at a frantic speed.

That day, sitting on a bench, I regretted that it was not the Little Prince to meet the sunset 43 times. Fascinating action, pushing towards philosophy and silent contemplation. But this is the lyrics, in fact I was thinking how to start. From what place to jump into the abyss of the construction site. There is no way back for a long time - there is only forward. And I started...

I am not a builder at all, I am an artist, so I ask all builders, professionals: do not swear!

Foundation and Curved Bars

The first thing to start with is to set the stops: the foundation. It was an important process, although in construction every process is important. The stops had to be set exactly to form a regular rectangle and have the same level.

The main stops: 12 pieces of 6 bricks, I installed for the main structure on the sand cushion itself. The rest: 8 pieces of 3 bricks, put on the dug holes, covered with sand. Perhaps it was necessary to lay geotextiles there, as was done on the main pillow, but, I hope, it should not float too much: I deepened the holes by 50 cm. The correct level was obtained, alas, not everywhere, but the differences were still managed to be minimized.

Next, the most difficult process is unfolding the bars. The lumber, to be honest, was not the best, although the first grade: the bars turned out to be crooked, and some had a very decent drop.

We walked for a long time, thinking what to do. Spent the whole day, put three bars, and I left on urgent business. The change in the type of activity, apparently, prompted me to look at the problem differently. Upon arrival, we continued: in half a day we laid out all the bars and fastened them with corners. I will not describe how we achieved the level, since the methods are different and, perhaps, not entirely correct.

The first wall is the first victory!

Further, it came to the most interesting - the construction of walls. We began to assemble the first, large wall 5 * 3. Once again, they appreciated the low quality of the lumber - they groaned, got angry, but did it. At this time, the weather turned bad, a stormy wind blew, everything around turned black. But this did not stop us and we began to raise the wall. During installation, they forgot to attach jute batting to the base of the wall. The frame was put back, quickly attached. We put it on again: we forgot to prepare the boards for mowing.

And the wind is getting stronger, and the wall is 5 * 3! In general, three girls raised the first frame wall in their life. We managed to do it before the shower - the sight, I can tell you, was unforgettable! Something shrank inside, either from happiness, or from something else, when I watched the work of our hands monumentally rise above the Russian expanses.

And I caught myself thinking: the construction site sucked me in so much so that there was not even time to be afraid, worry. We just did something every day, solved problems, and let go - the heart did not run away into the heels anymore, but beat in the chest, increasing in size with happiness!
