Why it is impossible to add liquid soap or Feri to the cement mortar: a drop in strength by 20 times
A strong mortar is necessary for screed floors, foundations, masonry walls, etc. To get a good solution, you need to accurately calculate the proportions. Now everyone uses special additives to improve quality, increase strength, plasticity. Lime, PVA, graphite and detergent are used as additives.
Our grandfathers used to add soap to concrete. Such buildings served for a long time, stood for tens of years. But you need to understand that then there were no additional components in the soap.
Liquid soap is added to form a plastic solution. At the same time, cement is saved. Detergents have an alkaline environment similar to cement and include fatty acids. By the way, it is advised to add soap no more than 5% of the volume of cement. But is this supplement really that good and is it worth using?
Many people think that buying specialized concrete additives is a waste of money. In the kitchen, everyone has a Faerie or another cheaper detergent for 20-30 rubles. Some even manage to add shampoos to save on additives and cement.
Solution turns out really plastic and it is easier to interfere, it dries for a long time. But then the concrete will crumble easily even with your fingers. The strength decreases 15-20 times. It becomes like sand.
Dishwashing detergents are high in chloride and free of phosphates. Chlorides are destructive. The whole point is in the components that are in the detergent. Moreover, the exact composition may not be written on the packaging. You may be lucky and concrete will lose only 5% strength, but most likely the opposite will happen.
If you build a house on such a foundation, then after a while you will have to build a new foundation. The point is that in the samples with the detergent, colossal air entrainment was revealed. The result will be high water absorption and rapid destruction of concrete.
Conclusion: do not add detergent while waiting for a miracle. The majority understood this the hard way and now use only specials. plasticizers for concrete. They also make the mortar more plastic, but the strength does not decrease.
