How I made smart lighting in my home: personal experience

Personal experience is always interesting, especially when it comes to difficult things like an electrician. You always want to adopt someone's innovations, ideas. Participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname Sch-ig shared his scheme for remote control of the light. Read, like, share the publication - perhaps the idea will be useful to someone!

How it works

I also had a remote light control system installed in my apartment. Based on experience, a similar system was installed in the house.

During the entrance reconstruction, two blocks were installed in the house: one in the hallway, the second in the storeroom. These two blocks serve the first floor in full and the second in part. A little later, a third block was installed, which serves street lighting. The cable goes to the block directly from the lead-in board.

Each unit includes 10 channels of 1 kW each. From the block, the wire is laid to one point of illumination, which can consist of several lamps. That is, a chain: block - wire - lamp. No intermediate boxes, switches, twists, solders, etc. The commands to the block channel are given by radio wave switches.

Block for 10 channels and two radio switches, each for two positions. The photo shows the gap and the track of the dismantled cable channel to the old switches. A finite number of switches can be connected to each channel of the block, but how many - I just don't remember, but for sure - a lot. In my practice, the maximum I connected was 5.

For example, the right switch (pictured) works in parallel with the switch in the hall and with a similar switch on the street. All of them include two of the six channels of street lighting at home. By the way, the exterior lighting of the house looks impressive.

There are single-channel power units, small. They can be inserted directly into a luminaire or into a junction box. I partially applied the power blocks on the second floor.

Remote switches

All power units are combined into a single system and controlled via the Internet. That is, they are an element of a smart home. Regarding the switches, they are also in the form of a key fob that lies in the car and when entering the courtyard I turn on the configured lights or turn them off when leaving. There is a switch in the bedroom that is configured to turn all lighting points on and off, i.e. everything. There are switches for movement (I don't have them in my house, my hands didn't reach).

There are 4 levels of light in the kitchen - now two are working. The rest will be implemented with a new kitchen. Yes, I forgot: there is a single block in the well for the outlet of the submersible summer pump. It is very convenient: working with hoses, changing nozzles, building up, etc., remotely turn on and off the pump.

Once again, I draw your attention: this system can be assembled for any organization of lighting, but, of course, it is best from scratch - one wire from block to point. The safest option from the point of view of further operation of the house. The first floor I completely managed to do just that. The second is partially combined with single-channel ones.
