The perfect garden swing: what to consider when buying one

A garden swing is an irreplaceable thing for a summer cottage, so recently our whole family has been thinking about purchasing them. In stores and on the Internet there is a huge selection of models made from different materials, all kinds of colors and sizes, but you cannot choose at random. There are several important details to consider when buying.

We already had experience in using a garden swing, so we selected new ones for ourselves, having clearly defined the characteristics that were suitable specifically for our family.

First of all, you need to decide on the size. It depends on the place where the swing will stand, and on the number of people who will swing on it. We have 4 people in our family, but such a long swing simply would not fit on our veranda, so we chose a model with a length of about 180 cm. Three adults can safely swing on them. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the weight loads that the swing will undergo.

It is also important to choose a suitable frame material. The swing can be made of wood or metal. We opted for a steel pipe swing and did not regret it at all. They are easy to assemble and durable enough. Moreover, it is much cheaper than forged ones, for example.

Of course, the comfort of the swing depends on the seat. We chose a seat made of steel grill with foam cushions on top. It is convenient that the pillows are tied to the lattice with ropes and do not fly away from strong winds. Sitting on them is soft and comfortable. The only drawback of the seat, which was discovered, is the lack of removable covers on the pillows. Because of this, they are difficult to wash, and you have to be extremely careful.

We also took into account additional details that make the swing more convenient to use. This is the presence of an awning from the sun and a mosquito net.

As a result, we opted for a bench-type swing by OLSO, which was completely suitable for us in all respects. They are comfortable, and the green color is pleasing to the eye and organically fits into the suburban area. Of the minuses, one can single out massiveness and the possibility of only lateral swing, but in general everyone is happy.
