Effective means for the destruction of cruciferous flea beetles on cabbage seedlings.
I grow cabbage seedlings in a greenhouse, and then transplant them into open ground. She has not really had time to take root in a new place, and pests have already begun to overcome her. One of these pests is represented by the cruciferous flea. What is this pest?
It is a small black insect with a body length of 3 mm. It damages the plant by eating cabbage leaves. She does this so intensively that if the gardener does not take action in time, the gardener will only see through the leaky cabbage foliage.
The pest prefers to feast on young cabbage leaves. Therefore, there are a lot of fleas in the spring.
The fact that cabbage is damaged by this pest can be guessed by the appearance of holes in the leaves. This is a signal that the processing should not be delayed. Otherwise, you will not have to see a good harvest of cabbage, since the plant may simply dry out.
The anatomical structure of the limbs of the insect determines the fact that she jumps well enough. This leads to the fact that almost all cabbage plantings are affected.
The appearance of a pest on the cabbage suggests that it is time to immediately start processing.
There are many chemicals that can be used to combat the cabbage flea. It should be said that all insecticides must be applied in strict accordance with the attached instructions. If the processing is carried out correctly, then the flea from the cabbage will disappear. Processing is carried out by the following means:
- fitoverm;
- Alatar;
- aktar;
- arrivo.
There are other means as well.
Anyone who does not want to use chemistry can carry out treatment with folk remedies. In the morning, you can make up cabbage by dusting it with wood ash. After 3 days, the procedure must be repeated. You can sprinkle cabbage with a solution of ammonia, infusion of wormwood or tobacco. It is good to plant marigolds next to the cabbage. For some reason, the flea does not tolerate these flowers.
