How do I feed the Currant after flowering. Increased yield guaranteed

It would be great if the cultivated garden currant was as unpretentious as its wild forest "relatives". But the reality is that without careful care, you cannot get a decent harvest from it. And fertilizing after flowering is of particular importance. Personally, for many years I have been accustomed to using the same scheme of her "treat".

But first, I want to clarify for what purpose all the troubles are being undertaken. When caring for currants at the end of flowering and after it, you need:

· To increase the number of formed ovaries;

· To raise the immunity of the plant;

· Strengthen the ability of the root system to feed the bush;

· Protect the plant from shedding the ovaries;

· Accelerate the ripening of the crop;

· Provide fruits with a high content of vitamins and sugars.

It is not difficult to understand - the tasks are not easy. But quite doable.

The first step is to prepare a mixture of superphosphate and potassium sulfate. The substances are taken in 1 tablespoon and diluted in 10 liters of water. The optimal time for feeding is when the last inflorescences are still on the bush. With poor soil or for bushes older than 5 years, fertilizing is re-applied after 10 days.

7-10 days after the introduction of mineral products, you need to apply organic fertilizers. In my opinion, the largest and most fragrant currant berries ripen after using chicken manure.

It contains an ideal balance of nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as boron, zinc, cobalt, iron, sulfur and manganese.

You can use fresh droppings - the solution is prepared from 1 liter of litter and 10 liters of water, the product should be infused for a day. Chicken droppings in granules are also suitable.

To prepare the solution, they need, firstly, to grind, secondly - to insist for 2 days, and thirdly - to dilute with water in a much weaker concentration, that is, 1:20.

Based on personal experience, I also want to warn all currant lovers against common mistakes when feeding a berry garden, namely:

1. Fertilizers are applied at the root after rain or watering - the earth should get wet to 30-40 cm depth. Otherwise, the underground part of the currant will burn and get sick.

2. Young fruiting currant bushes at the age of 2 years cannot be fertilized at all - their root system simply will not be able to assimilate it.

Using my own garden as an example, I can say that the given dressings are quite enough for an excellent currant harvest. The next time fertilizer can be applied after harvesting.
