Growing tomatoes effortlessly: minimum watering and maximum results

Tomatoes, unlike other vegetable crops, do not require abundant watering. On the contrary, if they receive excess moisture, it can lead to cracking of the fruit.

Growing tomatoes without regular watering has been proven by experience. Seasoned gardeners describe in detail how they started their experiment. At first, they took just a couple of tomato bushes, and then they increased the volume. Tomatoes must be grown in a greenhouse, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

- sandy soil is preferable, but well fertilized. Compost can be used. The roots of a plant in such a soil easily penetrate deeply and are able to extract a sufficient amount of moisture.
- when planting, they dig deep holes.

Humus and compost, a handful of wood ash and fish bone meal are added there.

- primary abundant watering. Pour a bucket of water into each hole. Then you need to wait until the water is absorbed. After planting the tomatoes, water everything again.

- mulching tomatoes. To retain moisture and reduce weeds, straw can be used thickly around the tomatoes. In addition, mulching with straw helps to avoid late blight contamination.
- pinching tomatoes: the fewer the sheets, the more moisture the fruits receive.

- the garter of tomatoes is carried out directly during planting of seedlings: twine is buried with one end near the roots of the plant, and the other is tied to the roof of the greenhouse. This is very convenient because there is no need to prepare pegs and supports.
- selection of a suitable variety. Tomatoes must be suitable for greenhouse cultivation.

- tomato treatment for diseases is necessary. Of course, when tomatoes are grown in the open field, then the possibility of getting sick in these vegetable crops is greater. Tomatoes in a greenhouse are less prone to infestation.

In a greenhouse, tomatoes are more likely to grow healthy and beautiful. In this case, it is easier to control the moisture ingress of the plants. Outdoors, especially during frequent rains, tomatoes receive excess moisture and are more prone to cracking.

If all of the above conditions are met, then you can not bother yourself with regular watering. Tomatoes grow quickly and develop well.

The first time, when the experiments on growing tomatoes were just beginning, it was difficult to endure so as not to water them.
Due to minimal watering, tomatoes rarely get sick, do not crack, and fully ripen on the bushes.

If you don't want to spend all your free time watering a tomato, then you should take a chance and plant at least a couple of bushes for your own experiment. Over time, you will happily switch to similar growing of tomatoes.
