The better to cut the sills. The engineer prompted. Tried his method
Recently I laid linoleum, then "plinth" and installation of sills, where it is without them. He worked on the second floor, the roof is flat from slabs, the heat is such that you can make a sauna, the furniture added "convenience", which had to be constantly rearranged. In general, the job is still the same, and then there is still to cut the sills, whether they are not okay.
Installation of sills
As you can see, I trimmed and fixed normally, and helped me with this, the advice of one of my readers. When in one of the articles where I fought with waves on linoleum, and instead of plinths I fastened the covering with sills, since there were old wooden ones, I complained that it was difficult to cut them with a grinder.
Whoever cut, knows that until the angle grinder cuts through the groove, there is an unpleasant opportunity to jump off the markings and damage the decorative coating of the nut. Another minus, strong heating of aluminum during cutting, a cut piece falling on the coating can easily melt it, and this is flying.
The easy way
So, Andrei Ratnikov (water supply engineer), advised to cut the sills with scissors for metal, only warned that you first need to practice pruning, and wrote that the scissors should be good.
I had excellent scissors, and therefore everything worked out perfectly, so I recommend his method, which I personally tested. It turned out that cutting this way is much faster and more accurate. A Thank you Andrey for such a great idea!
