Secrets of growing cauliflower. Or why cabbage doesn't have forks.

It takes a lot of work to get a rich cauliflower crop. Experienced gardeners share the secrets of successfully growing cauliflower. If you want beautiful and healthy cabbage to grow in your beds, then the following rules for growing this vegetable crop should be observed:

- you should not buy seedlings from the market. It is very difficult to get a good harvest from such seedlings, for this reason it is necessary to start growing cauliflower seedlings yourself;

- choosing the right varieties and hybrids for your region is very important. If you choose the right variety, then this will give more chances of getting a good result;

- to grow seedlings, you need to buy pots measuring 10 cm by 10 cm, these are slightly larger pots than for ordinary cabbage. If the leaves of the seedlings are large, then the swing will grow larger;

- it is important to plant seedlings in the ground on time. If you do this while there is still a threat of frost, then the seedlings will die. Cauliflower is a very thermophilic plant. Therefore, you should not rush, but wait for stable warm weather;

- ensure regular and sufficient watering. It is very important to water the cabbage in the first time after planting in the ground. If even for a short period the seedlings are left without watering, the cabbage may die. Moisture affects the formation of a swing;

- It must be remembered that cauliflower prefers fertile soil. Acidic soils are completely unsuitable for this vegetable crop. But, if the acidity of the soil is increased in your garden, then you can add ash or chalk to lower it. For a good harvest, the plant should be fertilized. Nitrogen fertilizers are important in the early stages of cauliflower growth;

- 2-3 days after planting, the seedlings are fed with organic fertilizers. The next time you feed the cauliflower is about two weeks later. When the formation of the head begins, the cabbage is fed with potassium-phosphorus fertilizers. Regular application of mineral fertilizers promotes good growth of cabbage.

Preparation of liquid dressings

- We dilute 200 g of wood ash with 10 liters of water. With such a top dressing, you can add cabbage every 10 days;

- with a lack of boron, cabbage should be sprayed with a solution of boric acid mixed with water (2 g per 10 liters) - 2-3 sprays are done per season;

- chicken manure is poured with water and left for several days. Then the solution is added to water and poured over the cabbage. 500 g of droppings are poured with 20 liters of water. 1 liter of solution is added to 10 liters of warm water. You have to be careful with this top dressing. If the concentration of chicken droppings is too high, then the cabbage may die.

If you follow these tips, you can get a good harvest. But, it should be remembered that growing cabbage requires a lot of attention and work. Therefore, if you do not have enough time, then it is better to buy cauliflower at the market or in the store.
