Free brick clinker tiles: a million dollar idea (builders secret)
One of the most popular building materials is brick-like clinker tiles. It is used for facade decoration, for interior decoration.
She is not afraid of frost, looks great and protects against atmospheric influences.
Water will not get inside and the tiles will not crack at temperature drops. Moreover, the tiles do not brighten from the sun and will retain their original color. Suitable for floor coverings due to its high strength.
The masonry turns out to be real and the free area will not decrease. Such tiles do not require preparation for facing. The service life of the material is at least 50 years. And there will be no need to tint the facade.
Clinker tiles vary in thickness and depend on the work that needs to be done. There are tiles 5-17 mm thick. Tiles with a thickness of 7 mm are often used.
This material is not cheap. Approximately 50-170 rubles apiece. Some will say: "Just think, only 50 rubles." And if you count how many such tiles will go to the facade, then you already get a tidy sum.
To save money, we offer one idea. I hope many will like it and someone will take my advice.
Instead of buying such an expensive material (clinker tiles), it is better to use used solid bricks. With its help, all work will be 15 times cheaper, and the result is no worse.
The point is to buy an old brick (it costs about 5-12 rubles) and cut it into several pieces. Some do not even need to buy it, someone gives it away for free.
Don't take stove bricks. It would be better to find a used German, red brick. He's prettier. The brick must be taken so that its color is uniform, otherwise it will exfoliate.
How and with what to cut a brick?
For example, you can do this with a grinder or a good tile cutter. We cut any thickness across to make a tile.
You say: "I don't have a tile cutter!" You can rent a tool and preferably with water cooling (about 500 rubles. for a week they will take). Even start a brick tile business. Idea too! It turns out about 8 tiles from one brick.
Many will say that after cutting it turns out textured on both sides, and smooth in the middle. That's right, but not quite smooth and mixed with texture will look great.
