A pond instead of a potato field: an overview, photo report

Beauty or practicality, benefit or peace of mind? These questions concern us both when choosing a house and during the arrangement of the territory. It is more economically profitable, of course, to maintain a vegetable garden and turn every meter into a useful area. But here's a subscriber our portal Eugene went the other way - he dug a pond in the country. Not myself, of course, but the fact remains. What benefits he gets from this - read on!

Good thought comes with eating

Once the thought came to my mind - to dig a pond in the yard, breed a fish, and I asked myself: is it worth it? A fish from their pond in the country that has just been smoked and sprinkled with lemon is beyond praise. Admit it, drooling, it became a little sour in your mouth from the taste of lemon juice? So it happened to me during the meal and I decided to create a small reservoir in the country.

I turned my field for potatoes into a gorgeous pond. We live once, why not? And what if everything is done correctly and how it should be looked after - the potatoes will turn into fat crucians, and the Colorado bugs will become waterfowl.

But I didn't go the way: do it yourself - I got a good idea. And professional diggers of ponds, or as they are called in a fashionable way: specialists in landscape design, began to bring it to life.

With my easy feed and their laboring hands, the potato field turned into a gorgeous pond. All this was created with the help of technology and, of course, the landscape designer painted this beauty. In the photo: the result of several weeks' work. Hard to believe, but true.

What in fact

Now in my newly-made reservoir there is a cleaning system, plants have been planted in the coastal zone, fish grows safely and even hibernates: crucian carp, grass carp, carp. I'll make a reservation right away: fish doesn't smell like mud. And also, when it's hot, my family and I swim here and the fish is not a hindrance to us! The water in the pond can be clean if the proper filtration system is in place.

Benefits

What did I get in the end? And I got pleasure, beauty, and a sense of inner satisfaction. A vegetable garden is good, but a pond is better. There is a fish and there is always enough to eat!

This, I will say, is not cheap, but it is worth it - the pond ennobles the courtyard, provides mental rest. And the site looks completely different when there is a reservoir on it: as if nature itself tried.

It is not known whether the pond will constantly supply fresh fish to the table, and even in large quantities, it is influenced by various factors. The economic benefit from it is a dubious event, but everything suits me!
