I decided to make a catcher on the angle grinder, because when sparks fly at you, the pleasure is below average. I saw one solution on the network, where the author suggests attaching a metal mesh for washing dishes to the grinder's casing as a trap. But it seemed to me that this was an unsuccessful idea, the mesh could be tightened under the disk with dangerous consequences, so I decided to make a rigid structure.

Like a mudguard

To block the flow of sparks, I decided to use a cut from an aluminum nut. For fastening, you just need to drill holes in the casing and plate to fix them on the bolt and nut, cut the edges with an oval, this made it possible to fix the "mudguard" in different positions. If you don't need it, you can just lift it up.

Everything is simple and reliable, it's time to test the device.

Test

I decided to check on an old drill, the catcher reliably blocked the path of a sheaf of sparks, but he also had an additional functionI didn't even plan.

Due to the fact that the plate is quite strong, it can be resting on a plane and cut, more precisely, by tilting the cutting disc onto the material.

And with this method, the sparks have nowhere to skip at all, it turned out very conveniently. Naturally, use safety glasses, whatever one may say, but the grinder is a very dangerous tool, and does not forgive a familiar attitude.
