How to give a second life to old trash, a new front garden from old pallets with your own hands

Six months ago my husband and I bought a house. Of course, not the first freshness, where did the young couple get the money for the new building?

For me it was not an easy decision, since I do not really like antiques, and in general I am more of a "apartment flower". But with a lovely paradise and in a hut. When buying a house, the former owners left a bunch of unnecessary junk, as I thought, but my husband fervently believes that every old item can and should be given a second life.

Together with the house, we got a vegetable garden. The earth is good, but as I said, my soul does not lie for this! We are of the opinion that it is not worth paying for something that you can grow yourself. For example: tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, but I had no idea how to do it! I planted enough for a family of fifteen... Having insisted on cancer in the garden, I decided to look for something that would facilitate my work and came across a pallet garden. Naturally, my husband really liked this idea, and in the old unnecessary things we found everything we needed ...

What came in handy for us:

* old table

* unnecessary desk

* three pallets

* film - 3m * 1.5m

* 8 strips for securing the film.

* wood varnish 2 cans

* grinder and grinding disc

* sandpaper 300 and 120

* a hammer

* pliers or pliers

* nailer

* nails 50.

From words to deeds

To begin with, remove the table top from a strictly table. Then the middle rack must be pulled out of the pallets. Next, we knock down two pallets so that we get a rectangle, as in the photo.

We also form a similar structure from the third pallet, getting rid of the middle rack and interrupting the side boards around the perimeter.

Attach the first large "rectangle" of two pallets to the frame remaining from the table.

Only one pallet went to the desk, we attach it to the desk.

When everything was knocked down, the husband sanded everything with a grinder with a sanding disc, and in hard-to-reach places he went through 300 and 150 sandpaper. I varnished everything so that my front gardens will serve me for a long time!

We nail the film in one layer with slats along the perimeter.

We fill up the earth and you can plant whatever your heart desires.

I planted bitter pepper in a small front garden,

because if this vigorous plant is planted in the vicinity of others, then everything will have a bitterness. The second serves me for storing little things. There is no soul in this house yet either, but blessing it is summer and I heat water in basins in the sun in the second, large front garden.

There were still a few pallets and I made a fence out of them. In the future, I plan to plant a tea rose along it. The flavor, the look and the jam will be amazing.

And in conclusion...

It turned out to be a rather multifunctional structure... The whole work took us 3 days, taking into account the fact that the varnish should dry for a day. I don’t know what will come of the idea of having my own house, but I am comforted by the fact that in our years the older generations were built, and children were raised, and had time to work, and the conditions were much worse. How do you deal with the trash in the house???

If someone has advice on the improvement of a summer cottage, at home, and indeed just experience in this, I am happy to wait for comments.
