Warm frame chicken coop: my quails and chickens received a luxurious apartment

Will chickens lay better if they live in comfortable conditions? Apparently - yes, if our next story is about the construction of a chicken coop, but not simple, but, one might say, elite. Participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname Zhorik 155 he spared no effort and money and erected a poultry house unusual for our eyes - an insulated frame with plastic windows and a door, covered with metal tiles.

How it all started

Two years ago, when the site was enlarged, it was decided to build a new warm chicken coop. I laid the dimensions of the chicken coop 3 * 4 meters. I decided to do it in full, on a grand scale.

How was the construction of the poultry house

In June 2018, a place for a chicken coop was cleared, the ground was leveled and a reinforced plate 15 cm thick was poured. Three weeks after the slab was poured, when the concrete gained maximum strength, the floor and walls were assembled from a 50 * 150 mm board.

After that, OSB cladding and insulation with mineral wool, 150 mm thick, were made. The windows of the door were installed brand: the profile is one of the most expensive. Then came the finishing from the block house. The roof is metal, the sheets were ordered whole so that they would be at their full length.

What happened in the end

There are three rooms in the poultry house: vestibule; room for quails; room for chickens. Assembled by an electrician: the light is fully automated via a time relay in the dashboard. Around the hen house, a blind area and soil filling were made. For poultry walking, pillars were cemented, 8 mm studs were cemented inside for assembling the walking frame.

Do not judge strictly. I wanted to make a major, reliable and ergonomic structure, so that for 20-30 years it would not be rebuilt, and I realized my desire in this way. I can say one thing - my birds got a five-star hotel!
