How to choose the right grill and not burn out. Tips & Tricks
When nature pleases you with warm sunny days, you don't want to be locked up, but to spend time outdoors with family and friends. One of the best additions to such a holiday is a kebab or barbecue. Sooner or later, cooking on a regular grill gets tired and many people think about buying a grill.
General recommendations
There are three questions, by answering which you can easily make your choice.
· Where are you going to use the grill?
If you live in a city apartment, and you rarely get a chance to relax in nature, then it will be quite enough to purchase a portable compact grill. If you live in a private house or in the summer you go to the country house, it makes sense to spend money on a stationary model, dimensional and multifunctional.
· How often are you going to cook on it?
If you are going to use your grill only on holidays, then the choice between gas and coal is not important. Love to watch the fire, choose coal; prefer a more modern approach - gas. The main criterion in this case is your budget. In case you intend to grill on a regular basis, take a look at the gas options. They are easier to operate and gas will cost you less than coal.
How many people do you need to cook for?
If you have a small family of 2-3 people, and guests are rare, then the best option is a small charcoal or gas grill with two burners. Otherwise, a full-size charcoal or gas grill with three burners is preferred.
Benefits of a charcoal grill
· The main advantage is the creation of a certain atmosphere by cooking on real fire. Embers make your food juicy and smoky.
· You can cook in any weather and season. To prevent precipitation from entering the dish during cooking, you just need to cover it with a lid.
· Versatility. On it you can bake meat, fish and vegetables, make cakes, fry, smoke.
· Long temperature retention.
Choosing the right grill is now quite difficult. The market offers a huge number of models with a variety of features and chips. My choice fell on the Weber Compact Kettle 47.
Advantages of the model
Size and shape
Height - 89 cm, width - 47 cm. Doesn't take up much space. The grill surface is sufficient for cooking for 3-4 people. The boiler has one of the most optimal shapes - spherical. It allows food to bake well on all sides.
Mobility
It is a fairly lightweight construction weighing 9.2 kg. The grill legs are unscrewed. Convenient to carry in the trunk. The two legs are equipped with castors, making it easy to move the grill around the area.
Simple package
The grill is easy to assemble. There are no questions about operation. The set includes: lid, boiler, grill grate, ventilation flap, handles, measuring container for coal, ash collector
· Specifications
The main material is heat-resistant steel. The manufacturer's warranty period is 10 years. However, with proper use it can last much longer.
Easy to clean
The soot does not stick to the material and does not take long to get rid of it. But you need to wash immediately.
Disadvantages of the model
Instability
The design is on three legs, two of which on casters are not as reliable as on four. There is a chance to overturn.
Open ash collector
In windy weather, everything will fly away from it in different directions.
Temperature control
There is a ventilation flap on the cover. By adjusting the amount of steam in the boiler with it, you can set the temperature required for cooking. You don't get used to this method right away, through trial and error.
Some other Weber models are equipped with a thermometer and the ability to adjust the height of the grate in relation to the fire. It is much more convenient.
In general, the model is worth its money and it can definitely be recommended for purchase. What would guide you when choosing?
