The next trip to the village, as always, is connected with the elimination of a whole set of current and long-standing malfunctions, and all kinds of maintenance of the parent equipment. This time it all started with replacing the cartridge in a household water filter, which changed a few months ago.

And below is a snapshot of a clogged cartridge from the last time.
Although this time the cartridge is slightly less soiled and not so easily soiled, the amount of black flakes that flew from its surface after opening the flask was still surprising.
Let me remind you that the reason for such a strong blackness is a periodic excess of hydrogen sulfide in the water, which is why it has a darkish color and smells like rotten eggs. But after settling for several hours, the water acquires a wonderful taste and no longer reminds of its original state. The color of the water returns to normal within 10 minutes.
It became interesting what the result would be if instead of a cartridge made of a polypropylene cord, use a consumable made of a thin polypropylene web wound in a roll (I think there is a canvas).
Although they are both the same in the fineness of cleaning - 10 micrometers, - it seems that a layered cartridge, unlike a wound one, will filter better, and therefore can rather clog up, since the total area of its working surface, in comparison with a cord cartridge, appears smaller.
Perhaps you already have experience using different types of cartridges, then share which one you prefer. The price of a wound cartridge is almost half lower, and although this is an important factor, the first thing that interests me is to compare the mechanical cleaning efficiency, for which I will be very grateful.
And, of course, when replacing, you should always check the condition of the O-ring rubber seal at the end flask, since very little clogging or a change in position causes a leak under pressure.
