Non-standard uses of citric acid. I show how she helps in the kitchen to solve many everyday problems.
Probably, in almost every kitchen you can easily find a couple of bags of citric acid.
Housewives usually actively use it when preserving various blanks for the winter.
At the same time, not everyone knows that with the help of this substance many other everyday problems can be solved in the same kitchen.
What kind? Consider below.
Descaling the kettle.
Almost all ready-made descaling products that are sold in stores contain citric acid.
So why overpayIf you can just use citric acid to clean the kettle.
You just need to pour it into boiling water 2 tablespoons of citric acid and boil for 5-10 minutes.
And with strong scale, increase the boiling time up to 15 minutes. Then you need leave the solution in the kettle for a few more hours.
Scale under the influence of a hot acid solution softens and is easily removed from the inner walls of the kettle.
Removing limescale from plumbing.
Most often, limescale appears on the tap when it comes into contact with hard tap water.
Citric acid does an excellent job with it.
To clear the tap, you need to Dissolve 1 tablespoon of citric acid in a glass of warm water.
Then moisten a rag in the prepared solution and without squeezing it out, place the rag in the place of limescale.
After an hour, the plaque will be washed off with a sponge without any problems.
Cleansing the grill of the hood from adhered fat.
This method of cleaning the grate can be said to be my "know-how".
I decided to somehow experiment and the result exceeded all my expectations.
Place the dirty wire rack in a baking sheet(the most convenient container that was at hand) and sprinkled with baking soda in a thin layer.
As you probably already guessed, the grate was filled with a boiling solution of citric acid (2 tbsp. l. 1 liter. water) and left overnight.
As a result of a violent chemical reaction, the pollution easily "moved away" from the grate.
