Why choose this cheap iron: I tell you about its advantages and disadvantages
About 10 years ago we bought a Braun TS 775 TP iron. After a while, he naturally aged, and it was decided to purchase other models - a newfangled steam generator and whatnot. But more recently I remembered the old iron, how convenient and interesting it was in its time. I wanted to see if this model is still on sale. And lo and behold, of course there is! It has almost completely retained its design and basic functions. Therefore, I would like to talk about its pros and cons.
Minuses
1. Outdated outsole
Many modern irons have a completely different type of sole - there are stripes, patterns and grooves, but this is not the most important thing. It has less perforation around the edges because the newer models have much more steam and so many holes are not required. In the TS 775 TP, almost the entire surface is mottled at the edges, which is good for vertical steaming, but this is by no means modern.
2. Twist cord
If you are used to wrapping the cord around the iron after working with it, then the wire will start to twist. This is very inconvenient, since in the process you have to put it on the ironing board and deliberately untwist the cord, which is very annoying.
pros
1. Quality for the price
Braun TS 775 TP retained its value and quality after 10 years, which is quite surprising given the rising price trends. A good iron that can be used both at home and for professional purposes, with a standard set of functions for a small price, is just a godsend.
2. Sapphire coating
This coating allows anything that sticks to the outsole to easily come off. In modern irons, you need to use a special chemical pencil, which will spoil the coating. Braun TS 775 TP should be wiped off with a damp cloth or cloth and everything will come off easily!
3. Cord length
A very necessary detail that is often neglected by manufacturers when designing household irons. It is not convenient to iron and constantly pull back the cord, thinking whether this length is enough to go to the other side of the board or not. This iron does not have such a problem, which is very pleasing.
As an experienced Braun TS 775 TP user, I can say that this unusual and cheap model will serve you well at home, or even in the workshop. Such an iron does not have the parameters characteristic of its newfangled brothers, but it does have a proven, standard functionality. If there are those who also have this old man, what can you say about him?
