The best dressing for Pepper in August, which I have been using for several years in a row. The result is impressive
Unfortunately, peppers are not at all such a vegetable crop by which one can say: "planted and forgotten." They require constant care.
And in August, during the period of active formation of ovaries and fruiting, pepper may lack various nutrients. And their need for calcium, potassium, boron and phosphorus is especially high.
For my plantings, I mainly use environmentally friendly fertilizers. In August, I carry out several dressings of pepper:
1. Onion peel
The infused broth of onion peel contains many vitamins and microelements useful for plants, as well as calcium, potassium and iron salts.
To prepare such a top dressing, I take a handful of onion husks, pour 5 liters of water into it and boil for 5 minutes. After that, I let it cool down and brew for 5 hours and water my peppers at the root (1 liter per plant).
2. Banana peel
Banana peel contains a lot of potassium, and its infusion helps plants to make up for the lack of this element. I make a solution for watering pepper based on the ratio of one banana peel to 1 liter of warm water for each plant. I insist for about two days.
I prepare both onion and banana dressing as the necessary raw materials accumulate in the house. But I try to ensure that each plant receives both one and the other during the fruiting period.
At the same time, of course, I do not pour two dressings under the bush at once, but I take a break of at least five days.
3. Boric acid
Boric acid, bought at a pharmacy, I dilute in a ratio of 2 g per ten-liter bucket of water.
Spraying pepper bushes with this solution promotes the formation of more ovaries and their further growth. In August, I carry out such foliar feeding once.
4. Infusion of ash
Warm infusion of ash stimulates the appearance of ovaries and the growth of pepper fruits. It is prepared very simply: a glass of ash is mixed with 10 liters of water, infused for about 12 hours and filtered.
Ash contains many trace elements necessary for abundant fruiting, including phosphorus and potassium.
It is believed that the largest amount of phosphorus is contained in the ash left after burning potato tops. Therefore, whenever possible, I try to add it to the solution.
Spraying peppers is best done in the evening and always with a warm ash solution. And I try to make such feeding every five days.
5. Biohumus
My neighbor at the dacha in August feeds her peppers with vermicompost. Says that it promotes fruit growth and their meatiness. Her peppers look really great.
I have not yet experienced such fertilization in my beds, but I think to follow my neighbor's advice.
During the fruiting period of any crop, few people want to spill it with any kind of chemistry. In addition, natural dressings give an equally good result. For example, I am very pleased with the harvest of my peppers.
