Is it easy to be an interior designer

Hello everyone, my name is Maxim and I am an interior designer. Many of my acquaintances are interested in whether it is easy to work in this profession, what difficulties there are and what is especially easy.

I will try to answer this question.

I want to start by saying that for me the profession of an interior designer is not just a job, but a way of life. And it seems to me that this is the best thing that can be with a person in his work activity - when there are no clear divisions between ordinary life and work processes. You live as you create, and you create as you live.

Even if I am on vacation and do not have any orders at the moment, I still pay attention to all those interiors that surround me. Especially in foreign countries.

I consider details, draw new ideas for myself. I can be inspired by a new idea, seeing a successful combination of colors even in a person's clothes or in something else that has nothing to do with interiors.

Also, in order to constantly be in trend, improve your skills, improve and grow, you need to read a lot, follow trends.

The profession of an interior designer is a creative activity. I believe that every person is a creator by nature. But what exactly he likes to create is another question. Someone has been creating dramas and problems all their lives - and this is their work.

Is it easy to be an interior designer? I cannot answer for everyone, so I will speak only for myself - it is easy for me. I chose exactly what I had a soul for and what I had inclinations for. It is easy for me because I am minding my own business.

But this does not mean that I do not have difficulties. Any job has its drawbacks.

The most difficult thing is, probably, to understand those customers who cannot accurately express their desires. It can be very difficult to guess which pictures of the desired interior are in their heads. Sometimes one project has to be redone many times.

It is difficult to work with capricious people who "get to the bottom" to the smallest detail and something will be wrong for them.

It is difficult when you cannot find the materials you need (it happens that while the project was being created and approved, the collection of tiles has already ended).

It can be very difficult with performers who strive to do everything in their own way and if not monitored, they can deviate from the project plan.

Sometimes it is difficult to work when the client is in a hurry and thinks that it is very easy and simple to paint a beautiful interior. I'm not even talking about the fact that everything needs to be designed and technically calculated to the smallest detail.

As you can see, there are many difficulties. But precisely because I love my work, I overcome all these difficulties easily. At least - I quickly forget about them.

What would I advise to those who consider the profession of an interior designer as a prospect - do not go into it if you are only interested in making money. You need to love this business, live it, then you will cope with any difficulties.
