Don't overpay or why you don't need a refrigerator with No Frost
A refrigerator is the first thing I decided to buy after buying an apartment, even before moving into it. When studying the market, of course, I wanted to choose a reliable and efficient unit that will last for many years. Having looked closely at several options, I noticed that they differ in the presence or absence of the NoFrost function.
What is No Frost
No Frost is a system that allows you to “forget” about defrosting for a long time due to the specific placement of the cooling element. This function prevents the formation of frost on the walls.
Why did I decide to choose a refrigerator without No Frost
At first glance, the technique with No Frost is better, but after consulting with experts, I changed my mind. The main problem of economy segment refrigerators in the general No Frost system is for both the freezer and the refrigerator compartment. This leads to aeration of the food.
Also among the "minuses" are a smaller internal (useful) volume with the same dimensions and increased noise.
After considering all the pros and cons, I purchased the Bosch KGV39XW22R model. It is spacious (the total volume is more than 350 liters, of which 94 liters are in the freezer). Compressor warranty for 10 years.
For a year of use, she noted the long-term preservation of heat during a power outage. Defrost it only once. Naledi is formed very little.
For those who nevertheless decided to take a unit with the No Frost function, I recommend choosing a refrigerator in which this system used only in the freezer and stock up on airtight containers, the use of which will prevent airing products.
Do you think it's better to refuse No Frost or is it a useful feature?
