Installation of a ventilation duct in a wall made of aerated concrete without brick

click fraud protection

The most common example of installing a ventilation duct in a wall of aerated concrete (yes, in any non-wooden wall) is to lay out the duct itself from brick:

But this is a long process, you need a solution, you need to separately import the estimated amount of bricks. You can also understand when they make a chimney channel for a fireplace stove (second slide). The ventilation duct can be laid out from blocks 100 mm wide (with a wall width of 300 mm) and the necessary pipes can be laid in it (third slide). But there is a very simple and quick way to get a ventilation duct in a gas block:

Channels were made inside blocks with a diameter of 10-12 cm. Than? There is a range of drill bits for drilling in concrete on sale. Their cost: 1500-1700 rubles. for a diameter of 10 and 12 cm.

This is recommended by the guru of aerated concrete, Gleb Greenfield in this video: https://youtu.be/3eJSsN11UMU

But for those who build themselves and save every thousand, there is another and also simple way using a cheaper homemade tool:

The grinder cuts 3-4 cm along a hexagonal piece of a metal rod (about 2-3 cm in diameter). A 3 mm thick metal plate is inserted there and welded. Plate 10-12 cm long. On the underside of the plate, another piece of pipe is welded in the same way (there will be a centering pipe).

Further, in the block, a centering hole is drilled with a perforator with a drill (in the right place) and a hole for the ventilation duct is drilled with this homemade drill-pen:

We drill to the middle of the block. Turn over and drill from the reverse side. Otherwise, there may be chips or this drill will clamp at the exit point. But we also do not drill from the reverse side to the end - so that the drill does not jam, we leave a jumper inside. We knock out the unfinished part and clean it with reinforcement. The process can be seen in the video:

On the channel of the author of the video there is a video about the laying of such blocks: https://youtu.be/VhYEYW4ei7s as well as a video demonstrating his homemade aerated concrete sawing machine.

I also followed this advice. I decided to make a similar drill-feather from a trowel:

But there was spot welding and everything broke during the first test drilling.

I cut off the excess and fixed the feather on the hairpin. Because there is no centering of this drill, the drilling is not effective. I didn’t waste any more time and just cut out the excess in the block:

I chipped off the excess part with a chisel. The ventilation pipe inside the block has been foamed. And the pipe is needed for this:

Result. The ventilation duct leaves the unit and passes inside the armored belt. Made with bends in order to bring ventilation outside the floor slab. Plates are not drilled correctly. For ventilation, bends are also undesirable. But in any case, it's easier that way.

Later, when laying the walls of the second floor, I will weld a drill-feather more powerful.
