Building a house from FBS blocks. In which case is there a benefit?

The basement is the same floor, but completely or partially below ground level. FBS (wall foundation blocks) and are produced for these purposes. And if this FBS structure is also erected above the ground, then, logically, the costs cannot be lower than 500 thousand. rub. (minus work with soil). This is a lot behind the walls of the floor and it seems to be meaningless to consider this topic. But some people still build from FBS. I propose to look at an example and understand in which case it is beneficial.

The owner of the construction site reports that he had FBS blocks, so he decided to lay down the floor from them. It turns out that his costs are only mortar, concrete with reinforcement, team work and crane rental. The cost of new FBS for example:

They dug a trench, poured the so-called concrete foundation (unreinforced tape concrete base) - for horizontal laying of blocks. One row of blocks turned out below ground level. And there they laid blocks with the worst appearance. All blocks are used.

Five rows above the ground and an armored belt. In some places, the gaps between the blocks were laid with bricks. It can be seen that the project is calculated as much as possible for joining blocks without voids. This small house took about 80 blocks.

Often there are such openings-voids in the walls, if the construction was carried out from FBS of the same size.

If the owner of the construction site hired assistants and a crane, then this floor is built in three days (with an armored belt). Costs approximately 42 thous. rub. (10 thous. rub. - crane change, two assistants, 2 thous. RUB / day). Plus concrete, mortar and reinforcement. Let another 50 thousand. rub. If you lay it with your own equipment (let's say there is a truck in a crane-manipulator) and attract relatives, then the costs are halved. Then it made sense to build from FBS.

But if the blocks are purchased (new), then only they will have to pay at least 160-200 thous. rub. This is the cost of a floor made of aerated concrete with blocks of 400 mm wide, which in most regions of the country does not need to be insulated. And walls made of FBS are a must.

If you got FBS blocks at a low price (and you don't need a basement), then what are the pros and cons of building a first floor from them?

pros:

• Fast installation. The floor is assembled in 3-5 days (excluding the set of strength of the strip foundation under the blocks).
• The thickness of the walls and the strength of concrete (M300-400) make it possible to mount any kind of floor (slab or monolithic).
• Low cost of walls, if the blocks are used and own equipment was used
• The durability of concrete in blocks of this brand is at least 150 years.

Minuses:

• It is imperative to insulate and unattractive appearance at the initial stages of building a house.
• It is necessary to have several standard sizes of FBS. Otherwise, part of the voids in the walls must be bricked.
• An armored belt is required as a masonry strapping.
• High cost if the blocks are new and installation with hired equipment.
