The Christmas tree is not a toy for children or how fun and safe it is to decorate the house in which children live for the New Year
The first years of life, the child perceives everything around with surprise, perhaps that is why young parents are so eager to make the New Year's holidays especially bright and magical. In order for the winter fairy tale not to turn into a tragedy, home decoration must first of all be safe.
Wait no longer, there will be a Christmas tree soon!
In a house where there is a child up to 4-5 years old, the best option would be a small artificial Christmas tree, placed on the table, pedestal, where the baby cannot reach it. A large symbol of the new year can be installed only if it is possible to always control the child's access to it - for example, place it in a separate locked room.
If you think that the New Year must certainly be met with a living tree, then experts recommend introducing the crumbs to a Christmas tree or pine in advance. Buy a branch of the selected tree and hold it at home. If within a couple of days you do not find an allergy in your child, you can take whole spruce or pine.
Safety first
Even if your child is more than 5-6 years old, this is not a reason to relax. Decorate the lower branches only with unbreakable toys and short tinsel - children can touch a tree while running or pull on a bright object out of interest.
Experts have compiled a list of jewelry that should not fall into the hands of a child under 4 years old if there is no adult nearby:
· Breakable balls;
Tinsel - rain, streamer;
· Small items - Christmas decorations, confetti;
· Electric garlands;
· Clapperboards.
With a baby from the age of one year, you can independently make a garland of multi-colored paper rings, draw with gouache (with finger paints) something New Year's on the mirror or window, cut out snowflakes from napkins, paint shatterproof balls. And remember, for a child up to 4-5 years old, every new year is like the first time, so do not try to surprise him with something exquisite, magic stories and safe home decorations that will bring only positive emotions.
