Building the second floor is more interesting and even faster. I explain with my example

The first row of the second floor is laid (in the places where it rests on the floor slabs - on the mortar) and reinforced. Further, 5-6 rows are the simplest laying. Scaffolding, tables are not needed, at most you get up on several pallets.

I laid out one row of aerated concrete in two evenings. And it gets dark already early, from 7 pm in the middle of September twilight already begins. But it doesn't stop me - I use an LED spotlight and a headlamp.

It is inconvenient in one thing - you need to carry the spotlight after moving it during laying or turn it. A lot of time is spent on preparation: lifting the tool, installing lighting.

So why did the beginning of the construction of the second floor seem more interesting to me? The first is the view from above:

Excellent landscapes opened from above: a view of the forest and the village. Working, one might say, you enjoy not only the result, but also the views. Familiar fellow villagers are passing along the road. They say hello, waving their hand, someone honks. There are even those whom I do not know, but we still greet each other. Of course, you always mutually greet the neighbor to the left and the neighbor to the right of the plot. In general, other sensations from work are on top.

Second, the construction process and techniques are familiar to you in practice from the first floor. No need to think long. When there is no doubt, work proceeds with great moral comfort.

For three evenings I laid out two rows. It was a comfortable Indian summer in September. One evening it was so warm that I worked in one T-shirt, which was not often in this cold summer.

It worked faster not only due to the lack of heat or rain, but also due to the fact that the blocks on pallets were evenly spaced on the floor and always at hand within walking distance:

During the construction of the first floor, two cars were unloaded next to the house and the blocks had to be brought inside.

One machine (12 pallets) is enough for about three rows of masonry. I don't lay out the inner wall (only the first row is laid out). The supplier temporarily does not have blocks with a width of 300 mm in stock. The car is on its way. Apparently, buyers have chosen as the most popular.

Lifting pallets - one at a time by the same machine that delivers them. For my convenience, the shipping cost is included in the price of the blocks.

The second batch was delivered, 12 more pallets and again without blocks of 300 mm. While I use it from stocks - I laid out the masonry only along the edges of the wall.

As I wrote, all the stages of masonry are familiar and you do them a little faster: masonry, foaming vertical joints with glue-foam, troweling a horizontal surface, dusting with a hairdryer:

In this place, we had to build such a platform:

To do this, I used a scrap of an old timber that had been lying since the construction of the bathhouse and bought a 6m 150x50mm board, sawed it in half and made a second beam. But it would be possible to simply cut the bar lengthwise with a chainsaw. He was reinsured. Top boards - from pallets.

Subtotal as of 09/18/2020.

Golden autumn, warm weather, aerial view - all this adds, one might say, additional motivation. But according to forecasts, October will be cold and rainy. I would like to have time to fold the floor. But I will not guess.
