5 Important Tips to Make Your Money Tree Even More Beautiful
One of the main plants valued in home "gardens" for greenery, not flowers, the money tree, in general, can be called unpretentious.
However, after reading a little scientific and botanical literature, I realized how you can make it even more beautiful!
And I think that such simple methods of caring for a plant, proven by personal experience, will be useful to many.
Normal hydration
There is a widespread myth that succulents, which include the money tree, can do well without water. In theory, this is true. Moreover, excessive watering leads to decay of the root system.
Therefore, it is important to follow two rules. Water the plant as the soil dries and keep it in a pot with drainage holes. In winter, when the air in the apartment is dry and in hot summer, the money tree also needs to be irrigated every 3-4 days from a spray bottle.
Lighting
In the winter and autumn months, it is advisable to turn on the phytolamp for a couple of hours a day. From April to August you can do without it. Almost all types of money trees respond positively to direct sunlight.
Only those whose leaves are painted in pure light green should be shaded in the midday heat.
Fertilizer
Guided by personal experience, I can say - no need to experiment with folk recipes! Best of all, the money tree responds to the introduction of dressings intended specifically for desert and alpine plants, that is, succulents.
If there is no such specifics in the store, you can choose any fertilizer for cacti.
And an important point - in the winter "hibernation" the money tree is not fertilized at all.
Transfer
It is performed when the plant becomes cramped in the pot. But it is important to adhere to the rule that the diameter of the new container should not exceed the crown of the tree.
Otherwise, the fat woman will build up the root system in order to occupy the entire volume of the soil and may weaken from this, not to mention the fact that the aboveground part will not grow.
Disease prevention
In principle, you do not need to worry too much about them - in terms of "immunity", the money tree is one of the most powerful plants.
But in my opinion, it is not at all superfluous to mix a little wood ash into the top layer of the soil once every 2 months.
Thus, it is possible to reduce the risks of developing fungal diseases, which can occur even when watering the plant with too hard or soft water.
