How an urban man "zucchini" turned into a suburban active guy

How to move from city to country. Moving stories, what difficulties we had to face. On the pros and cons of suburban life.

Yes, not only at 12 o'clock the coachman turns into a rat, but the carriage turns into a pumpkin, and vice versa, there comes a time when a plant man turns into a cheerful comrade. In any case, that's what happened to me.

We have lived almost all our lives in the city. We live in Siberia, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, in the regional center. We have never even had relatives in the village. Life was smooth and measured. The children have already grown up, have created their own families, and my wife and I, not yet old and full of strength, began to live without hassle and worries in a comfortable 4-room apartment. I came home from work and watched TV on the sofa. And the wife goes to the magazines.

How an urban man "zucchini" turned into a suburban active guy

Everyone and the trouble is to take Grisha out for an evening walk in our West Highland. No, life was in full swing in the summer - I had to go to the country. But all this boil is also only on weekends, and all week after work on the sofa, in the zucchini pose. And it seemed that everything was fine, but ...

But my wife had seen enough of these magazines. And then only the deficit for the entire press subsided and the most beautiful magazines with wonderful photographs and drawings went on sale. Mine was crazy about the magazine "My Beautiful Garden". And there, every photo, there is a small toy house in Germany, hidden in an old, luxurious garden. And such flowers and such trees!

The wife just lost sleep. And she began to incite me to build a house. Small, one-story, but on its own land. And I suddenly realized that I was gradually turning into a vegetable. No interest - and today work is TV, and tomorrow work is TV, and in a month, and in a year. Is this life?

And most importantly, we already have land, we have a dacha of 18 acres, 20 km from the city. There was an abandoned village, but the summer residents reached out there and began to give land for the estate. Yes, it would be nice to move out of town when I become a pensioner so as not to go to work, well, by that time, there will be no such strength left to raise the house. In general, my wife calls me a steam locomotive - the main thing is to push me, and then, on the rails, I will do everything myself. So she pushed.

And I began to count, calculate and... and also terribly wanted my own house. For a lawn, for a terrace, for a barbecue with barbecue in the summer, and a bathhouse in winter, and smoke from the chimney and the smell of birch firewood ...

But what can I say, some 3-4 years and we built a house. Small, one-story, but its own.

The house turned out to be compact, but roomy, 9X9 square meters, 81 square meters turned out. And we two don't need more. All this needs to be heated. Why drown the extra squares? We got two rooms (16 and 20 sq. M.), And a large dining room (20 sq. M.) And a bathroom. The house turned out with all the amenities and very warm.

Of course, he dug a septic tank, so the toilet and shower are right in the house. Why a shower and not a bath? Because a lot of water will have to be pumped for a bath, and there is no need for this - we have our own bathhouse. Therefore, for everyday showers, and on weekends, come to the bathhouse. Here you have a broom and a birch scent for the whole village.

And water and heat are available. By the way, I built a garage close to the house, and in the garage I also have a small boiler room with a German boiler "Buderos" (we heat with coal, in our area there is still not too much gas) ...

... both a well and a water supply station.

And a basement for storing vegetables. By the way, he is also a viewing hole for a car. He brought all communications to the garage. It is very convenient - even on a frosty winter morning, you can approach the boiler naked, and there is no dirt in the house.

And life has changed. Now there was no time to lie on the couch - every free minute you do something, pound with a hammer, cut the grass, remove the snow, or just clean the area.. No, now you don't work hard like a draft horse, you move, you work physically, but you do it with such pleasure that your wife cannot drive you home.

Although the wife herself is not at home either. We now have not only my favorite lawn,

but also her adorable flowers.

My sons and I moved the old cottage to another place, and now only the foundation of the stove reminds of the former country house. I wanted to demolish it, but my wife deftly attached it under the flower bed.

Well, since we became villagers, it was necessary to acquire an economy. First they thought about a big guard dog. We decided to buy an East European Shepherd Dog. But while we were thinking about which kennel to take from, Grishka brought a puppy from somewhere in the cold.

How can you throw this out?

They left, they called him Dar - Darik. Now it is Darische the Horse of Tygydymsky. He grew up big, but to Grishka with reverence and respect. This gang is now always on guard of our property.

But Darik didn't stop there. Chickens first appeared

and then rabbits

And now there are ducks. But I think this is not the limit.

People often ask me: "Don't you regret that you exchanged the proud for the village?" And I sincerely answer "No!"

Friends come to me as often as they have never come in the city. Every weekend we have interesting gatherings with shashliks, with a bathhouse, with soft music, with a small pool on hot days. I get to work in the same way as in the city - in 20 minutes, only without traffic jams. And also - our eldest son is also building a house on the site next door. And yes, from a man in a zucchini I turned into an active guy for years... but it doesn't matter, most importantly, I feel like a guy. And my wife has also changed. She's happy.

Now in her vase there are roses from her own beautiful garden all the time. Her dream and mine have come true.
