Growing an orchid at home is not an easy task. Many novice flower growers are faced with a lack of knowledge about caring for this wonderful plant. Difficulties can arise even when solving the most elementary questions - for example, "how to properly water an orchid?"

Want a lush Orchid? Learn to water it Correctly. And I will tell you how to do everything correctly

In fact, proper watering is one of the keys to caring for a flower. With its help, you can provide a gorgeous lush flowering. I am telling you how to do it correctly.

Determine the watering time

The first and most important rule of watering is that it is needed only when the soil and plant roots are dry and require moisture! Excessively frequent and plentiful watering will lead to the fact that the root system of the plant will rot and it will die if measures are not taken in time.

A little life hack: The easiest way to keep track of the need for watering is if your orchid is growing in a transparent pot. The roots of the plant will be clearly visible in it.

When they are juicy, green, it is too early to water. Once they turn silvery, it's time to water.

If the pot is opaque, use a thin wooden stick for this purpose: dip it into the ground, then take it out, and if its bottom is wet, it is too early to water the plant.

Determine the method of watering

As a method of watering, some growers, whose opinion I have listened to before, recommended a hot shower. Without a doubt, this watering mimics the natural conditions of the warm tropical rain under which orchids grow in the wild.

We put a pot with an orchid in a bath or shower and pour hot (about 50 degrees) water with a very moderate pressure).

· Leave it to stand for 20-30 minutes without water until the excess flows out of the pot.

· Carefully blot the leaves of the plant with a non-woven cloth and return to their usual place.

Over time, I abandoned this method of watering. The fact is that tap water is very hard and plants don't like it. I could not achieve lush flowering and active growth.

For some time now I have been watering the orchid in the lower way: I put it directly with the pot (it has drainage holes) in a container filled with clean, soft water. I make soft water according to my own recipe - through a filter with charcoal and gauze.

Water the plants properly and they will delight you with a truly luxurious bloom.
