Fiery fireworks, fellow flower growers! On the agenda - beloved by women, but often suffering from improper care, spathiphyllum.

Like all indoor plants, "Women's Happiness" has its own troubles features and preferences in care. Today I will tell you what conditions are unacceptable for spathiphyllum: they spoil its appearance and do not allow the owner to please with flowering.

Interesting fact: In the wild, spathiphyllums choose damp places. Their abode is the banks of swamps, river valleys and streams.

Mistake # 1. "Let it grow itself somehow"

A flower grower who decides not to feed a houseplant is deprived of the opportunity to regularly observe the dissolution of white sails. Spathiphyllum is undemanding to the composition of the soil, but without constant nutrition it is unlikely to suit a flowering marathon.

From March to October, feed "Women's Happiness" regularly - at least every 2 weeks. The choice of the form of fertilizer is yours, comrades: traditional in liquid form, long-playing sticks, granules. In winter, reduce feeding to 1 time per month.

To stimulate the release of new and new buds, use complex mineral fertilizers, where there is more potassium and phosphorus than nitrogen. Choose nitrogen and organic fertilizers if you want to increase the size of the crown or improve its condition.

Mistake # 2: Arranging "Women's Happiness" dark

Spathiphyllum is often included in the lists of "shade-loving" plants. The authors operate with the fact that in nature the flower grows on the lower tier of the jungle under the shade of unprecedented trees. But at least one of them understood that the shadow in the forests of Costa Rica and the shadow in our northern apartments are two big differences..

Shade-tolerant does not mean shade-loving. Placed in the backyard of the living room, "Women's Happiness" will not die. But whether it will develop and bloom is a big question.

Good and diffused lighting is the key to constant flowering. Place the pot on an east or west windowsill. Try to find a bright place where, during the peak of the daily activity of the sun, direct rays will not fall on the spathiphyllum. Because of them, the soil in the pot dries out rapidly, and the leaves are covered with burns.

Advice: If you want to decorate the nooks and crannies of your house with indoor plants, choose alocasia or sansevier with dark green leaves.

Mistake # 3: when problems start from landing

If I am asked: "What is the main feature of spathiphyllum?", I will answer without a shadow of a doubt: "He is crazy about abundant watering." Yes, "Women's Happiness" drinks a lot. But this does not mean that it is impossible to fill it up, as some comrades naively and recklessly think.

On the contrary. The need for generous watering imposes an important obligation on the owner of the spathiphyllum - to make sure that the water never stagnates at the bottom of the pot:

• Choose a pot that is only 2-5 cm larger than the root system. Due to the spacious volume, the soil at the bottom will not have time to dry out.
• Add baking powder to the soil. The most affordable is agroperlite, which is sold in a flower or agricultural store.
• Be sure to place a thick layer of coarse claydite drainage on the bottom of the pot.

Compliance with three simple points will provide optimal conditions for the growth and flowering of "Women's Happiness".

Mistake # 4: Improper watering of spathiphyllum

Remembering their historical homeland - swamps and river valleys of tropical forests, "Women's Happiness" develops well and blooms regularly only at constant soil moisture. It is worth being late with watering for a day or two, as the leaves hang with rags and dry the tips of the leaves.

Advice: Comrades, use settled water. Hard water degrades the structure of the soil due to lime deposits and leaves ugly "milky" stains on the leaves.

Water the spathiphyllum as soon as the topsoil is dry. If you have time, indulge "Women's Happiness" with regular and abundant spraying. And also my crazy about a hot shower - but this, as they say, is a completely different story.
