Red fish - looks great on a plate. Very appetizing, I just want to take a piece. But not everything is as beautiful as it seems at first glance.

The high price for this fish is due not only to its divine taste, but also to its small quantity. As soon as people tasted the red fish, a merciless hunt immediately began for it. So that the salmon species did not disappear completely, they began to breed fish artificially.

The motive is simple - as long as there is demand, there is supply. Salmon is now in abundance, only the quality of the farmed fish is modestly silent.

Salmon fish are grown in aquariums, along with their relatives. There is little space there, and the number of fish clearly exceeds the norm. In the event of any infection, the diseased fish remain in the aquarium and safely infect healthy fish. And after the death of infected individuals, we get a delicious fish on our table and are glad that we grabbed an excellent piece for a good price. Naturally, not all suppliers do this, there are also bona fide enterprises that grow fish according to all quality standards.

Unfortunately, I often meet especially cunning sellers in fish shops who often pass off cheap fish for sockeye or salmon. In addition, fish are frozen in the freezer. Although, not every type of fish can be subjected to such freezing.

Defrosting the fish correctly

I do not thaw frozen fish at room temperature, otherwise it will be dry and not so appetizing in appearance. I always put the fish in the refrigerator to avoid drying out and preserve the taste.

I always salt salted fish with my own recipe. So I will know for sure that everything will turn out right and tasty.

My salty for red fish

  • 1-1.5 kg red thawed fish
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons of salt and spices

If there is anyone who is indifferent to red fish, then such a delicacy as a game is probably to everyone's taste. When buying caviar for the table, I do not save money and buy in specialized stores, where there is an opportunity to see the eggs themselves. They must be the same size. Natural color without dyes.

With the right choice of products, the dishes will not only be tasty and healthy, but also beautiful. It is pleasant for me and my friends when the dishes and the holiday itself are remembered several months after the celebration.
