Why the construction site fell out specifically for the winter

The chores in the garden are over, now only snow removal remains from work on the site. From the old owner, a shed in a terrible state remained on my site. Yes, and it still stands in the middle of the site, it takes a place. I have long wanted to replace it with something better and put it closer to the fence. Dropped out fell on a wooden utility block or shed.

How to choose the size

The size for the new utility block chose 2 * 3 meters. I need a shed for storing hand-held agricultural implements such as shovels, hoes, rakes, and for other inexpensive little things. There is a 5 * 7 m garage for storing more valuable things. Considering the length of the lumber is 6 meters, the size of 2 * 3 meters is very economical. And also the size 2 * 3 is convenient for transporting boards on the trunk of a car.

I was considering the option of building a shed made of iron, especially since there was an experience of such a construction in 2013 in an old dacha, but I did not want to cook in the cold. Cold metal, plus the masked glass sweats, and a number of other inconveniences.

How was the work

I'll make a reservation right away: there is a house next to it with gas heating and all the amenities, so I do everything slowly on weekends.

Foundation: since the site is with a slope, the choice fell on metal poles 108 mm and 78 mm. A garden drill drilled 6 holes with a diameter of 220 mm to a depth of 70 centimeters. To the pipes I welded heels, such as the head of a screw pile, from both ends of the pipe. The heel that goes into the ground is a circle with a diameter of 200 mm, and on top is a rectangle of 120 * 200 mm. He buried it, tamped it down, did not concrete it. Dry cement mixture M150 was poured inside.

I considered screw piles before starting construction, but give more than 10 thousand. It’s a pity, the pipes were much cheaper. The fact that they were buried above the freezing depth - I understand this, but I'm not particularly afraid of frost heaving due to the fact that the slope and water descend along the slope on the site. Yes, and the building is not a residential house, if I fix it.

Pile binding

Then the question arose with the binding of the piles. Considering the size of the building, I settled on a beam or board (as anyone) 40 * 100. Several were in the bins.

But here it turned out that in the nearest construction markets there are only 50 * 100 or 40 * 150 boards. As a result of calculating the cost of the material, I stopped at 40 * 150. The width of 150 mm is very good for a budget barn, so I spread it lengthwise and got 2 pieces. 40 * 73 mm. The budget was glad!

On the side of 3 meters I hammered together and additionally twisted with screws (mixed) a bar 40 * 73 (vertically) 40 * 100 (horizontally) in the shape of the letter L. On the side of 2 meters of floor joists 40 * 73 mm. Seven pieces (so far put 3 pieces). Installed at the corners of the rack 40 * 73 mm.

I plan to have a single-pitched roof, so the size of the rear wall racks is 190 cm, and the front ones are 230 cm. The jibs are temporary. I screwed on the horizontal, top, side bars and replaced the rear wall jibs with permanent ones.

Plans

I continue to build a shed slowly. In the evening, they raked away the snow that had piled up in a week, in the morning he dismissed 2 more boards, put the guides under the door, tried on the door leaf. The door was given by friends - China is in a new building from the builder, they are usually immediately after repair, and some even before the repair are changed to normal ones. This will go to the barn.
