November is the time for feeding the Decembrist. 15 minutes of care, and there are 1.5-2 times more buds
Fiery fireworks, fellow flower growers!
Today on the agenda are the Decembrists and quick fertilizing, increasing and prolonging flowering. I gladly noticed that after fertilization on a home plant, you can count 1.5-2 times more buds, and flowering lasts longer - until February-March. Many articles have already been written on how to make the Decembrist bloom profusely. But I still decided to make a selection - well, the tools work very well!
How to feed the Decembrist: 1 method is effective
In November, it's time for decent Decembrists to pick up the buds or open them already. Time is running out! Therefore, fertilizing the Schlumberger (the official name of the "winter" indoor plant) in the last month of autumn, it is recommended to apply top dressing by foliar method - on the sheet.
If a florist sprays or wipes the leaves with a nutrient composition, the plant will quickly absorb the active ingredients - organic and mineral. And the remains of the composition
can be poured into a pot - gradually the roots will absorb the treat. Carefully prepared top dressing will last longer, prolonging flowering.Ash infusion: when chemical fertilizers are not suitable for zygocactus
Wood and plant ash is organic, enriched with minerals. Ideal for growers who advocate chemical-free fertilizers. Availability also adds popularity: to get ash, it is enough to burn a couple of units of firewood or a bunch of plant residues.
For spraying the Decembrist, forcing to pick up the buds, use an infusion of ash. 1 tablespoon of raw materials is stirred in warm water and left for 3 days under a closed lid in a warm room. When the folk dressing is ready, the liquid is filtered through several layers of gauze or a fine sieve so that the ash particles do not get into the spray bottle or stain the leaves of the "forest cactus".
Boric acid: using the laws of botany to your advantage
Organic wood ash supplements will work well. But it does not compare in speed of action and strength of effect with the benefits of introducing minerals in their pure form. And one chemical element - boron - "is responsible" for the massive set of buds (in decorative) and the growth of ovaries (in vegetable plants).
To increase the number of buds on a Decembrist, boric acid in powder form is suitable. The cost of a bag is about 15 rubles. Available to everyone, comrades! And the preparation of top dressing will be simple if you follow the following algorithm:
- Measure out 2 g of powder. Standard bag of acid - 10 g. It is enough to divide the powder into 5 parts, take one, and pour the excess back into the bag. It will come in handy later!
- Stir in a little warm water. In the cold, crystals dissolve very badly.
- Pour into 10 liters of water, stir well and use for spraying.
- If this volume is too large, you can dilute the powder in 5 liters of water. Then you need to take 1 g - this is "at the tip of a teaspoon."
The effect is noticeable from one spray. But, in order to prolong flowering for a couple of weeks, you can repeat the procedure again in a month.
Potassium monophosphate is perhaps the best flowering stimulant in my practice
Spraying ornamental plants with potassium monophosphate solution is always a shock flowering. The successful duet of phosphorus and potassium causes a wave of off-scale extravaganza of colors, where Schlumberger is in the lead role.
A solution of potassium monophosphate is prepared in the same way as boric acid. Only the dosage is different - 10 g per 10 liters of water. Note to comrades - 2.5 g fits in 1 teaspoon.
