Indoor flowers that do not like to stand on the windowsill. Don't make my mistakes

My first steps in creating a home winter garden began with the fact that there was too little space on the windowsill for placing indoor flowers.

And newly acquired plants with leaves, the beauty of which is revealed only under growing conditions with moderate darkening, which means placing them near windows is contraindicated for them.

In addition, large pieces appeared in the home collection, which needed to be correctly entered into the interior of the house.

Ampel views were added, which required special supports, shelves or stands. So the beloved pets began to explore new territories.

Floor plants

The solo parts in the flower orchestra went to the main performers:

• Monstera. The abundantly growing liana, as it grows, throws out hugely cut leaves;
• Ficus elastica with oval leathery leaves took pride of place in the corner of the room. Vintage, I associate with old photographs and knitted lace napkins;
• Yucca. Spectacular prickly lady, the owner of long pointed leaves collected in a rosette at the end of the trunk;
• Japanese aralia. Tall, stately beauty, not demanding in care;

• Date palm. Especially dear to those that I have grown, one might say, from infancy, from the stone of an ordinary date. At first, its growth is insignificant, but each new branch pleases incredibly. Having matured, she will become a true queen in a green state.

Ampel species

What a greenhouse, even a home-grown one, without falling emerald waves:

• Fern nephrolepis, the finest work of nature. Can't stand the bright sun, but loves light, placement near windows is ideal for him;
• Chlorophytum. Chlorophytum, of course, is an irreplaceable helper for air purification. The flower is completely unpretentious. In addition to the magnificent variegated foliage, it is capable of producing long braids with children, which are used for rooting;
• Asparagus or a home Christmas tree. Forgotten by flower growers, but familiar to me from childhood, my grandfather respected her very much. Asparagus grows best in areas with sufficient light and likes to be sprayed frequently. If these conditions are met, it will delight with a wave of delicate feathery greenery;
• Cissus. Thin lashes of indoor grapes will weave a wall in the far part of the room with a fancy pattern.

Deciduous decorative flowers

Plants with beautiful, painted foliage are not inferior in charm to their flowering counterparts:

• Sansevier. Well-known handsome man, pike tail. Possesses erect, hard, long leaves;
• Alocasia, its variegated form is especially attractive, the foliage of which is distinguished by a white ribbon-like scattering;
• Dieffenbachia- magnifica. Painted with pale yellow stripes and spots. It is worth noting that Dieffenbachia is poisonous;
• Arrowroot. A smart fashionista, does not like close proximity to window panes and sunlight.

Placing flowers on the windowsill is a traditional option. And if you go the other way, what awaits at the end of the path... A cozy home atmosphere - an armchair under a palm tree, a warm blanket and a favorite book, and a riot of lush greenery around. Dream or reality?

For me, this is a reality, a pacifying oasis where people from different countries, climates and with opposite preferences, but love works wonders, and love for flowers also.
