Micro hydroelectric power station for lighting a site or a house. Real example with costs of 2000 rubles
While preparing the article Micro hydroelectric power station with a low-speed generator for power supply of a private house, found an interesting example that can be safely implemented at minimal cost. But for those who have a dacha, a house on the banks of a river or a stream with a fast flow, it should be realized. And even better - with the height difference of this water stream.
We purchase several of these Chinese generators:
They are sold in three versions to choose from: up to 80V, 5V and 12V. They are designed for installation in a water supply system. Let's say, when there is no electricity, then they will be as a backup source of lighting in the bathroom. I turned on the tap or the shower in the bathroom - there was lighting Can be used in parallel with the main (minimum) lighting - there will be some kind of savings.
For those who are more accustomed to buying on aliexpress, you can see the model here
Suppose you have such a stream outside your territory:
We take a hose 10-20 m long. On one end we put on the upper half of the plastic bottle - this will be the water intake. We put it in the stream bed, and lay the hose parallel downstream. We fasten our generator to the hose. The crane is optional (if you want to turn off its operation). Done. The generator is powerful enough to power multiple LED bulbs. Output current up to 200 mA at 80V. If you buy a 12V model, the current will be even higher.
We are watching a short video about the installation and testing of this MicroHES:
Minimum costs: generator: 650-950 rubles. and a hose or sewer pipe with an adapter (it does not wrinkle): 500-800 rubles. Maybe a little more - depending on the length of the hose or pipe (depending on the height difference).
If the stream flow is powerful, then it is possible to lay a sewer pipe parallel to the flow and from it to make couplers for 2-3 or more hoses to connect such MicroHES generators. You will also have to control the clogging of the water intake (or you need to put a grid on the bottle.)
We connect in parallel for more current. We bring out the wire in thick insulation. All. Until the freezing of a river or stream, we have a free source for LED lighting or even lighting something. And if there are no freezing temperatures in your area, you are even more lucky.
If parallel to the river bed, lay a 150 mm sewer pipe (orange, for outdoor objects) and there will be a difference in height of 3-5 m, then you can illuminate with several such generators both the house and the entire territory plot. Only the pipe is best hidden in a trench. Don't ruin the landscape.
For a lamp or lamps on the site, we install a lighting sensor with a 12V motion sensor:
Perhaps this installation will violate some environmental laws. Formally. In fact, it does no harm to nature. We only use the energy of the water flow.
Someone might say why experiment like this? There are also solar-powered lamps with motion and light sensors. Yes, that's right, but they hardly charge in winter. This year, in October, the weather was cloudy all month, and such a lamp on the site stopped turning on in the dark.
