Why Geranium is pulled up and how to help the plant make a beautiful Hat. The flower will bloom gorgeous and will delight the eye

As winter approached, my geraniums tended to look very sad. They stretched out, the leaves dried. In the end, it was not enough for me to look at this pathetic sight, and I mercilessly cut them to the very root. All the same, they will give new beautiful shoots. I am sure that most housewives do this.

I recently learned that I was making a gross mistake. Any pruning provokes the development of lateral processes. In winter, there is not enough light for the plants, which is why they stretch up.

In addition, they heat well in houses and apartments, favorable conditions are created for development, but the lack of lighting forces them to direct growth upward.

Geranium is a very simple and common flower, with proper care it forms a beautiful hat and blooms for a very long time. Juicy large flowers have always made me envy, so I decided not to sit idly by, but to save my ugly sprouts.

For the experiment, I collected some of the pots in one corner of the room and gave them additional lighting. The lamp did not turn off all day and night.

I took the remaining plants to the balcony and reduced the watering regime. These two factors must be observed simultaneously. With a decrease in temperature and abundant watering, geraniums will rot. This is an African flower, so it tolerates a slight drought well. In such conditions, growth slows down. Watering should be carried out at the moment when the turgor on the leaves begins to lose elasticity.

I want to tell you about the reasons why my geraniums refused to bloom:

· The pot is too large. The roots of the flower tried to fill the entire space. I have combined several geraniums in one bowl. When they bloomed, it turned out to be an interesting multi-colored composition.

· Depletion of the soil. All indoor plants need feeding, otherwise the soil loses minerals and nutrients necessary for the flower for harmonious development, growth and flowering.

· Unsuitable soil. The clay soil was not suitable for the flowers. In the store, I found a soil specially made for geraniums.

· Incorrect pruning. In order for a beautiful cap to form on time, pleasing to the eye, it is necessary to cut the plant on time. Excess branches should not be removed in December, but in September or early spring.

A few extra steps that helped my plants bloom:

1. In the flowerpot where I had several flowers, I replaced the layer of soil with a fresh one (about 3 cm).

2. Fertilized the soil with wood ash. 1 tablespoon insisted in 1 liter of water, then drained the liquid and used the remaining sediment for feeding.

3. I pinched the tops of the stems at the time of laying the buds.

So, having corrected my mistakes, I received a reward - beautiful, juicy flowering plants that bring aesthetic pleasure to me and my guests.
