Why and what were the windows on the sunny side replaced in the new house

Four years ago I bought an apartment in a house that is eight years old. The windows were wooden with a double-glazed unit of three panes. For a start, everything was fine. Over time, it turned out that:

· The sun floods the whole apartment at noon, and the apartment heats up;

· Due to the shrinkage of the seals, blows into the cracks;

· Paint began to peel off the outside of the frames.

It was decided to replace the windows with plastic ones. An analysis of companies and prices showed that the price is about the same for everyone, the main thing is that the installation is of high quality. We decided to replace one window and then look at the efficiency.

Frame structure

Three-leaf frame, glazing: on the left - swivel, in the middle - fixed glazing "in the frame", on the right - tilt-swivel. The glass units have a reflective coating. A mosquito net is installed on the side of the right sash.

Sun protection. Multifunctional glass

By spraying a film with vacuum magnetron sputtering on one of the glass in a glass unit, the transmission of thermal radiation from the street in summer is limited and retains heat inside the apartment in winter. A corresponding label is visible on the glass, and a digital designation inside the glass unit.

Compared to ordinary glass, you visually see the darkening, but over time you stop noticing it. For this protection, 500 rubles were thrown over the entire order. If we talk about the effectiveness of spraying, then in the summer the air conditioner was not turned on. We must take into account what the summer was and that I live in the middle lane.

Jalousie

The options were different. Hung horizontal aluminum blinds. The advantages over others, in my opinion, are as follows:

· Lowered, the apartment is not visible from the street;

· Raised, it is practically invisible that the blinds are installed;

· Opened, less light falls;

Broken, dusty, removed (mounted on two clips), washed or wiped, hung up, or replaced.

I consider the tests successful, I ordered the replacement of the second window. After the replacement, we will think about which blinds are more original to hang.

My mistake

I forgot to order the installation of the comb retainer.

I bought it in the store. The diameter of the holes in the retainer was found to be smaller than the diameter of the projections under the handle. I drilled two holes up to 12 mm, installed the clamp.

There are many options to protect the apartment from heating by the sun in summer, so that it is comfortable in the apartment. What do you think there are more rational proposals?
