My husband and I moved to the village of the Ryazan region in 2018. We chose the village of Mushkovatovo based on the distance to the city (5 kilometers from Ryazan), the convenience of the location of the infrastructure, the price, the possibility of living in silence and personal affection for Ryazan.

Below I will tell you about the difficulties we had to face, I will share the pros and cons of living outside the city and useful recommendations for those who want to move to the countryside.

Difficulties, pros and cons of rural life

My husband and I, having got married, immediately bought land in the village, looking at all the possible options nearby. The plot was bought without communications, thanks to which we got it at the cadastral value. Difficulties arose with the connection of communications.

Therefore, the first and most important recommendation is to buy a plot or a ready-made house with connected communications to save effort, time or money. When connecting gas to the site, I recommend that you immediately contact the intermediaries, they will deal with all the documentation and help you avoid nerves.

Having settled in a new place, my husband and I faced other difficulties: the lack of regularly operating transport (minibus runs 1 time per hour), the presence of high prices for food in local stores (prices are overstated by 20%, compared to hypermarkets). Besides, there is no road on our street. The construction of the road is not planned for at least another 10 years.

A minus and, at the same time, a plus can also be called our location - we live with my husband by the field, there are no neighbors nearby. Since we live near the field, for several days in the summer we have to call the police brigade so that no harmful substances are sprayed on the field to bait pests.

There are many advantages of living outside the city:

• silence;

· Fresh air;

· Lack of a busy flow of cars;

· Lack of neighbors;

· A large area for growing plants, farming;

· The ability to arrange noisy evenings at any time of the day, to carry out repairs around the clock.

It is comfortable to live outside the city in the village, having a private car, if you need urgent medical care, purchasing food and other needs. However, it is not interesting to live in the village, as there are no places for work, walking and entertainment.

Moving to a permanent residence in the village, you need to think over the places of purchase of products, moments of movement, work, walks, entertainment and more. It is worth choosing a village that has a nearby shop, pharmacy, playground, school, kindergarten (if it is not possible to carry a child). You should choose a place as close as possible to the city, in order to avoid problems with calling an ambulance, fire engine, gas service.
