How to grow a lush Decembrist bush from a small shoot. 3 Essential Tips for Early Growing
The Decembrist flower is always in my home collection. When the first frosts are already outside the window, the trees have thrown off their foliage and look dull, and there can be no talk of flowering plants outside the window, the Decembrist releases the first buds.
Despite some difficulties in growing this flower, a huge lush bush can be obtained from a small scion with a little effort.
How to properly care for a Decembrist at home
The Decembrist belongs to one of the varieties of cacti. Unlike its counterparts, this flower loves moisture. At the same time, it is also categorically impossible to fill the plant, because its root system is very vulnerable, susceptible to fungal diseases, rotting.
It is best to grow flowers on the east or south side of the apartment - where it gets, as much natural light as possible. Particular attention should be paid to the choice of soil for planting - the best solution is soil for cacti or a universal garden mixture.
But all the work when growing a Decembrist will go to waste if you do not follow the three most important tips when caring for a flower at an early stage of growth.
Top tips for growing a Decembrist at an early stage
In order to get a lush Decembrist flower from a small shoot, which will delight the eye with lush flowering every winter, when grown at an early stage, it is recommended to use my three main secrets:
1. Choose a pot by size. Do not give in to the temptation, and buy a pot that is too large so that the Decembrist does not transplant so often. The plant does not like it when there is a lot of free space in the pot, the development of its root system slows down significantly, and the bush itself does not grow.
2. Use the correct feeding. To fertilize the Decembrist, it is better to use folk remedies. A solution of sugar with ash or wood dust is well suited as a top dressing. Chemical fertilizers can burn the roots, thereby completely stopping growth.
3. Never replant Decembrist before or during flowering, leaving it for this period in the maximum state of rest.
Use simple tips, and you can make sure that growing a Decembrist is not so troublesome, and the result of the work is certainly worth it.
