Does the money tree not bloom? How to get a lot of buds and longer flowering from a fat woman

Many people call the money tree simply a fat tree because of its dense leaves. But I still like the name Crassula. This is a reminder of its beautiful, profuse flowering.

But in our area, it turns out, many do not even know that the money tree is capable of blooming. When I ask my friends how it blooms, they answer me in surprise, it's a succulent, it doesn't bloom. But no! Dear ones, this succulent blooms beautifully, simply gorgeous! You just need to find an approach to the tree. I give my hints about this from personal experience.

There are varieties of this succulent that grow only in hot countries. So they bloom very profusely, some even for several months. And there are varieties that are very demanding on growing conditions. We in Russia mainly grow those that are ways to withstand the cold, are not capricious to temperature extremes, but rarely bloom. They just need certain conditions for the flowering period:

- rare transplant and the right choice of a pot,

- correct feeding,

- the correct frequency of watering, not like for ordinary indoor flowers,

- correct formation of the crown and trunk,

- temperature for ejection of peduncles and required air humidity.

#Landing and feeding

The money tree does not need to be replanted annually, as we often do with other flowers from the windowsills. When transplanting or planting new cuttings, it is best to choose heavy, shallow pots, but as wide as possible in diameter. The roots of the bastard grow in breadth and not in depth.

In deep, but not wide enough pots, a fat woman may not bloom if it cannot strengthen the rhizomes and receive enough nutrition.

It makes no sense to transplant a large tree just for the sake of changing the soil more often than once every five years. It is better not to injure the roots, because Crassula blooms after only 4-6 years from the moment of planting the cutting.

Top dressing and watering frequency

The nutrient medium for the money tree can be created from both organic and mineral fertilizers. The succulent loves not very acidic soil, not dense and with good drainage. You can feed the flower by watering it with a nutrient solution, or by laying a nutrient layer of fertilizer over the ground.

A solution for feeding at home can be prepared by infusing ash for a week or by preparing a solution from minerals purchased from specialized stores.

On top of the soil, you can put a layer of fertilizer made from compost. It can be made from siderates, it takes longer to ripen from ordinary grass. And also from rotting apples or pears mixed with green manure or just new soil. With each watering, nutrients from this layer will drain to the roots.

You need to water the money tree every 5-6 days, but depending on the temperature and humidity in the room. You can understand that it's time to water, not so much by the number of dry days, but by the leaves and crust of the trunk - this is the best indicators for timely watering, so that the crown does not become bare, but at the same time the plant has strengthened trunk.

Adjusting to eject a large number of peduncles

We must not forget about the timely pruning of the tree, so that the crown is thick, beautiful and does not stretch, from which the branches can break. And persistent injuries are not conducive to flowering.

Few people know that crassula requires a certain stress, in which the tree begins to bloom vigorously in order to continue development through the seeds. For the overwhelming varieties from our latitudes, such a factor is coolness. The longer you hold in the spring on the balcony during the day at a temperature of 13-15 degrees, the more peduncles the tree will begin to throw out. At night, just remember to bring it into the house. Temperatures from 12 degrees and below can be destructive for a flower.
